| BHPian | ![]() for the whole set of six pics to see what happened, click : http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a44...a/_MG_0638.jpg http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a44...a/_MG_0639.jpg http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a44...a/_MG_0640.jpg http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a44...a/_MG_0641.jpg http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a44...a/_MG_0642.jpg http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a44...a/_MG_0644.jpg This is the Bolero SLX with the Turbo DI 2.5L 63PS engine. The car retails for 5.7 lakhs ex-showroom Pune (BS2) and 5.90 lakhs ex-showroom Pune (BS3). This makes it around 40-60,000 less than the Safari base 2.0Diesel... Have been driving it for the past one week and have clogged around 700kms in and around Pune. I really pushed it hard thru water-logged roads, pot-holes, mini-craters, hills and what not but she responded very well, with only the front wheel caps flying out (during some off-road adventure) Loved the decent MP3 player (has got a remote, so the location doesnt bother me), the ample torque available from as low as 1500rpm. She runs on 215/75 R15 Goodyear tyres, decent enough for dry/wet roads but not good off the road. A very capable machine for those who hate bad roads, slowing down for potholes and want something mean at a low price. Whats more, the jeep is very fuel-efficient too (delivering around 10kmpl with a/c under hard use!) Video link of the donuts coming up soon |

| Good to see you here Bunny. I read your articles with a lot of interest. I drove the Bolero before I bought a Dicor 4X4 and don't regret my decision one bit. However, the Bolero did impress off road!

| Super-Admin | Hahaha, Just when I was wondering how a Bolero could drift...I see pictures on wet grass. No ways a Bolero could drift on tarmac. You guys seem to be having a blast with the test-drive cars.

| BHPian | @karthik: I managed a couple of 360 degrees. Agreed, cant call them proper donuts, but with a 1670kg 63PS jeep, I cudnt ask for more! @jatinrao : The front wheel caps were lost somewhere while off-roading! Pick-up upto around 80 is more or less as same as the safari 2.0 Diesel. You cant expect a Mahindra (except for the Scorpio) to have a nice ride. 4*4 is available on demand. @Mpower : I sorta agree, but then the Bolero comes into its own off the road. Really.. and its got more torque down the range which helps in city traffic a lot as compared to the safari 2.0 Diesel @jyobed: Yeah, the Bolero impressed me a lot. I really pushed her and all that happened was the comin off of the front wheel caps. Thats it! @kpzen : Went to Mulshi today. Loved it! @GTO : No Indian jeep can drift on tarmac, although today I did slide for like 10-15metres on a corner which downshiftin to 2nd at around 50km/h. The rear came out in mid-corner and i floored it..ahhh |

| Senior - BHPian | Bunny, good pics - looks like you had a lot of fun with it. Looking at the pics, I feel like going and picking up one. And to top it, re-sale shouldnt ever be a problem looking at the number of Mahindra's already doing taxi-cab duty, esp in the semi-urban areas. |
