Good news. But dont know when these cars with updated suspension will launch?
Any idea whether old cars can be upgraded with new suspension?

Is the current suspension setup too soft that it hits the speed breakers if its a bit high! Tamilnadu speed breakers are built like a wall which makes me worried now

Verna owners please throw some light on this regard.

Hi All

My car is approaching 19k & is due for 3rd service. This time I wish to go for synthetic oil to see if it helps in any manner. Engine oil specification as per manual is " API service CH-4, ACEA B4 ( without DPF), ACEA C3 ( with DPF ) or above. Which synthetic oil should I go for which should meet the above specifications. Service station has their own stock, but no synthetic oil is available with them.

Thanks

guys I am looking to buy a diesel sedan. Budget around 11 - 11.5 lacs. My requirements are power packed peppy engine, good braking and safety, great looks, decent FE and decent ride comfort. How do you suggest about the Verna 1.6SX?

@somonwheels, I believe the Verna ticks all the boxes, but would suggest you also check out the Vento as well. Both manage good sales numbers & are bit different, as the latter can be more of a driver's car as compared to the former. Others in this class, barring the Rapid, do not sell that well & the Rapid has stiffer ride as compared to Vento even, whereas the Verna has soft suspension more tuned for comfort, & is not known for corners carving abilities.

Guys, bumping this post again!

I am having a hard time sourcing this security module. I got to know that this module also enables the siren feature apart from the speed sensing autlock in SX variant.

I have contacted couple of dealers, but none of them seem to have a clue.

Does anybody know how can I escalate this to HMIL?

I have already sent emails to cr@hmil.net and also registered complaint(s) at toll free number, but no one responds.

@somonwheels you can also try the Renault Fluence, which is not as quirky looking as the Sunny & is equally spacious & comfortable IMO.

Did 3rd & last free service at 19,300 km. Could not change oil to synthetic as service advisor raised warranty issue. Cost of service is 3.7 k including oil change ( castrol GTX 5.3 lit), oil filter, & fuel catrige. No issues so far expect slight rattling some where from dash board. The rattling is of peculiar type, thak-thak type of sound on extreme broken roads only. Could not be solved by the small service centre during 3rd service. Would take the car to the dealer from where it was purchased.

Service cost seems to be extremely reasonable & the car is niggle free so far.

Hyundai had issued a service bulletin sometime back to address the rattling noise from the dashboard. When I had taken mine to the service center, had got a chance to walk through their service area and there were details of this on their notice board in the service floor. It included step by step details with images to fix the issue.

Service costs for me also have hovered around the same range somewhere between Rs.3.6K to Rs.3.8K. My car has covered 24,500 kms. No major issues so far except that two reverse sensors went bad. Got them replaced under warranty. On very bad roads, there is a minor rattle from the right rear door.

As per my SA, costs post the free services would be approximately between Rs.5.5K to Rs.6K for the regular 10K service.

I have the same rattling issue with my verna and complained to the dealer here in bombay. There is slight rattling and it goes when i press the dash on rough roads but arises when released. Its quiet otherwise. The dealer said he'll solve it by putting a sound deadening mat (probably heatlon). Its just that i have not got the time to go and get it done. Will keep you posted as when i get it solved.

For the past month or so, I had been trying to source the add on security module which is available as anaccessory for Verna. I visited a few dealerships and no one had any clue about this option. In the end, I registered a request(Service Request) through HMIL call centre. The guys in the call centre also did not know about it, and promised to get a call back from technical team. After several attempts I was still not getting any reply. So, I took help of facebook and twitter and brought this matter to the attention of HMIL. HMIL finally got the HMP Mathura road, Delhi to contact me today morning. The voice on the other end said, they have the security module available and i can come and get it fixed.

I reuested for aprox cost and features this device would bring. I was told, anti theft siren, impact sensor were the two main features added.

So, today afternoon I went ahead and got it installed. Total cost ~2600.

Although I think a car that costs million bucks should come pre-installed with these features, but still for this much money the thing is worth it.

I still dont have speed sensing auto lock. Few members here had told me that after adding this module this feature can also be enabled. Since it was very crowded (due to weekend ruch) at HMP, I thought I will give it a shot on my next service.

Although, I dont have high hopes, since the security module is just like any other autocop security system. As a matter of fact, the OEM is autocop itself and they gave me a 3yr warranty card too.

Edit: This module also has the so called reverse beeper functionality. Which i got disabled.

I had a few queries for Verna owners (specifically petrol):
a) What is the real mileage for the petrol variant (City/Highway)?
b) Is bluetooth song streaming possible?
c) Is the service interval 10000kms/1 year for Petrol?
d) Is AC volume control present (can vents be completely shut off)?
e) How much discounts are available for the petrol variant?

^^ Add to this, it is being preached (including by few auto-mags) that they have improved the suspension for the newer models. How true is the news, & how good is the handling (no comparison to VW/ Skoda/ Ford )?

b. No
c. 1st service: 1000 km, 2nd: 5000 km, 3rd: 10000 km, 4th onwards: every 10000kms/1 yr
d. For the side vents yes by shifting the slider, vents in the console can be closed to about 85%
e. None when I bought it which was last October. Please call up and check with a dealer.I am sure there will be a lot of discounts available now.

Haven't tried any cars with the new suspension yet.

My car is due for its 3rd free servicing as very close to 10000 kms. Car has been niggle free and service costs have been zero.

Thanks for your answers.
I hope Hyundai fixes the suspension in production models soon.

Also, do you use synthetic oil? And how much does it cost for its refill at the service?
