Thanks for the nice review deadguy25,

More such reviews will throw more light on the long term reliability factor. I also would lobe to know the BHPian who has done most Kilometers with Fluidic Verna and his openion about Verna.

These just came in today. Now, I have to figure out how to connect them "correctly".

Completed two years of ownership of the Verna CRDI SX(O) last week, May 14th to be precise. Have covered 34K kilometers till date. Very happy with the car till date.

There was only one issue till date and that was with the rear parking sensors. All 4 of them were replaced in multiple occasions in the course of last two years. Maintaining the beige interiors has been a pain. The service guys dirty it every time the car visits the service floor for service/sensor replacement. Though, I have them clean up the mess everytime, it takes almost an hours effort after reaching home with my trusted VISTA leather cleaner to get things back in shape again.

No rattles, niggling issues till date. Interiors have held up very well.

GC has not been much of a botheration except when fully loaded. Maybe, the speedbreakers here in Trivandrum are not as monstronous when compared to ones in BLR/other cities.

Suspension is one area where I wish Hyundai could have done a better job. Glad to hear their newer cars have a more stiffer suspension setup. My SA was not very keen on doing the spring replacement everytime I checked him on that.

Last month, when Hyundai had their bi-yearly service campaign, took extended warranty for 3rd year. Cost me around nine grand. Fourth year warranty was available for an additional 8K.

Mileage has been pretty good throughout. Gives me northwards of 21 consistently on highways and hovers around 15-16 for my office rides. Readings are from the MID.

Has any one got call from Hyundai service station for replacement of suspension parts under warranty??

2 months back the service advisor mentioned about the recall for suspension parts, mostly they are putting in some stiffer springs & having a but wider diameter.

I got it done & found improvement in cornering at speeds and also the much reported body roll has reduced to some extent.

The advisor mentioned that this was a temporary solution & final parts are expected after few weeks.

Anybody else got such reports from advisor??

Unhappy Re: Hyundai Verna : Test Drive & Review

Finally I went to the Mayapuri Service center today to get them to look at the car. I showed them the TSB for suspension thump sound issue and he said that they will get it test driven by their expert driver.
We drove some pretty rough roads and were not able to produce the thump sound because we didnt even cross 60 and later I was not able to find any bad roads to make the test run. So they told me to use the car for now as it is and you are covered for another 2 years so can get it checked again in case the issue comes up again. Regarding ground clearance, he said we cant do anything but can go for options in the market. My cars ground get scraped atleast once a month.

Guess I have no choice.

Hi @mani_jeenu, is the road connecting the Mayapuri Bus depot to Jail Road in good shape these days, because when I was around that place, it used to be in average to bad shape, but still you could easily cross 60 on the road on a Sunday... or you could have taken some interior road in the industrial area to demonstrate the issue.

Irrespective of the car we won, we can learn from each other.

BTW, really good that you figured out well in time that coolant was leaking. How did you do that? Does Verna come with engine temperature gauge? Or just a warning light?

Thank you .

Nope, there is no warning light. Yes, there is the usual engine temperature gauge.

I saw that the surface below the engine was wet, initially mistook it for water that leaks out of the AC. After a while, i reached down, touched the liquid, and then was shocked. Opened the bonnet and checked the coolant tank, it was empty. Then opened the radiator and was in for a surprise - empty .

The interior road in the industrial road behind the service center was actually where we drove first. It was pretty bad with most of the road having mounds of mud but not much of potholes. Their suspension was able to absorb almost all of the impact and this was with 4 people seated. my friend weighing 100 kg was also seated in the back seat.

Then I decide to drive the car and take it to jail road but there also the road was pretty good and no potholes at all.
My worries are still much less as compared to others since my primary route is moti bagh to gurgaon for office which is daily 40 kms of NH8 so i am plagued by the issue much less.

Only concern is the bounciness due to which the bottom gets scraped sometimes on speedbreakers. Thump noise is still very rarely noticed by me.

Hi All,
I got VTVT SX (O) in Feb this year. Clocked around 2400 kms till now. The mileage has been awful...it is not crossing 10 kmpl in any circumstances...even a trip to Jaipur from Gurgaon, the mileage is not more than 10 kmpl. Another issue i am facing lately in this peak summer is the A/C. It takes lot of time to cool the cabin... sometimes more than 15 minutes. The Auto feature just keeps gthe blower going on at full speed and never comes down, even after 30 minutes of drive in afternoon. Is there any issue or is this normal ? Thanks.

Looks like an issue to me. Mileage of 10 kmpl is a bit low for a long trip even with full AC. I get about 10-11 kmpl in stop and go traffic and about 14-15 on a highway drive. Are you driving with high revs...more than 3000 rpm?

AC is very good in my car in the Mumbai heat. Make sure its in the recirculation mode. What temp do you set the ACC at? I normally keep it at 20 deg initially and after 5-10 min, I need to raise it to 23 as it gets chilly.

You might want to take the car to the HASS and ask them to have a look.

Very rarely above 300 rpm. I am very cool and calm driver . I normally set the temprature at 23-24 and it is always in recirculation mode. I guess i will get it checked soon before the summers are over.

Fuel efficiency is an issue with the 1.6L engines. More so when it is not driven much. My car has run only about 4000 kms in 1 year of ownership. It is driven only about ~10-12 kms a day. City driving with AC is returning around 7kmpl currently.

I asked the Service folks about any parts change for the suspension and they were ignorant about it. They claim to have received no information from the company whatsoever.

PS:- The brake discs and pads were changed under warranty during 1st service because of excessive rust. The braking though has never been a problem.
