A friend of mine is buying a 110 RXZ and is told that the rear AC is no longer provided in that trim and that it is limited to the RXZ Option pack. The dealer is saying that the company stopped the rear AC on RXZ about a couple of months back and now the only choice he had was to settle down with a brown color APril manufactured car that's in the dealer stockyard - his original color choice was silver.

Can anyone confirm on this please.

Thanks - Amol

If indeed true thats a welcome change! A real welcome change I would say!
Many guys (including me) did not go for the 110 top end just because of this one part alone.

I agree, even I thought the same way. But he's keen on having it even if it means lesser space for the 5th occupant at the back. The bigger compromise is on the color that he's making for this one feature or the lack thereof in the newer cars.

With the Rear AC in place, the RXZ Leather Option isnt such a bad idea.
They will look stylish and will not be uncomfortable too...

Just for this I went with 85 top end. However the 85 also helps with a brilliant city ride. Almost behaving like a petrol! So no complaints whatsoever.

I just leave my phone on the dash with the navigation. It stays there. However the charging wire connects on the left of the phone so it stops from tipping over.
Otherwise I use a Fly phone holder on my Spark. It was nice and strudy. But the new ones on ebay isn't great might be imitations. The goose neck is what gets wobbly. You need to make sure the phone USB port is not covered by the clamps that hold the phone.

Hi suchit23
I checked out your post, I think it is difficult for RxZ because it has rear A/C.
Thanks

Might not be a difficult thing to get it custom made. Lose the glove box under the arm rest and the break lever will not be affected. I mean just a simple fold-able arm rest.

Not for cell phones. But thought this might be useful.

Garmin has a friction mount stand.

http://www.amazon.com/Garmin-Portabl...friction+mount

Its pretty sturdy and I have been using for 5+ years now. And it fits nicely in that Duster location for my GPS.

Hi nariyani,
Can the ghost lights be switched off?
All of us are waiting more details photos of the fixture and if available, photos of the installation process, for both the DRLs and Ghost lights.

So my Duster had a minor frontal impact with a Traveller who turned amidst dark night without any indicator. My car was fully functional, no problem whatsoever. Some damage to right Headlight assembly, right fender and front bonnet.

right fender - replaced.
Bonnet - some repair.
Left door - some minor 2 wheeler rage scratch from same week.
left Headlight assembly - replaced.
Diesel filter - Replaced.(which was fine)
rad grill - Replaced.(which looked fine to me)

How much all this cost? 57 Thousand, yes 57 big thousands for a impact, which was a low intensity one.

Now here is the shocker, the Rad Grill is the front chrome plastic component. The one which holds the front Renault logo. Surprise is that, that light as a feather thing costs ~16 thousand. I am mad, very mad.

It is a plastic piece with just some chrome sprayed on it. How on earth can such a small piece cost 16 thousand? I am beyond words.

I have complained to Renault of this daylight robbery.

Those who do not have a Duster, heed caution. Parts are very expensive IMO. A much much small plastic grill with chrome paint costs 2.5 times the right metal fender. How on earth is this possible?

And if you did not know, labor charges(includes paint labor charges) in all this is 21 thousand. What kind of labor is this? Did they get labor from Europe itself to fix my Duster.

Question: Do you think these charges are fine? I think they are way too much for comfort. What I as a consumer can do?

Any help or suggestions shall be appreciated.

How did the insurance company approve these estimates and billing?
This is definitely day light robbery. That grill looks ridiculously feeble and has low quality finish. Even Rs. 1600 would sound expensive for it.

Man, Ford is going to kill Renault from every angle.
