I have bought my Amaze yesterday and got alloy wheel with 185x65 R 14 Yokohama tyre fitted in the car. Now it seems that the tyres are coming out a bit from the body line. Is it going to be a pain in axx in rainy season? Should I stick to the original size of the tyres? Please advice.

On the look-out for a new car, i requested a test-drive of the Amaze VX-D today morning from Whitefield Honda. The response was very pathetic(sorry to say). Each time I called and before I could place my request, I was cut short by saying that I will be called back in 15 to 20 minutes. However, there was no call back.
I managed to finally get my request for the test-drive on the 4th call and was told it was only available tomorrow morning. I was okay with that.

However, what puts me back was the response on the calls. Will share more details after the test drive tomorrow.

What rim size in J are you using . I am using 195/60r14 on my stock alloy rims and have no problems . You also shouldnt have any issues with your 185 tires

I agree. When I was in the hunt for Amaze, I contacted both Whitefield Honda and Magnum Honda. The response from Magnum Honda was way better than that of Whitefield.

Infact, I did not visit the showroom till the delivery date I took test drive at home, booked the vehicle at home (the Sales guy came home with the receipt book) and I paid visit to the showroom only on the day of delivery.

Suggest trying Magnum Honda (Kanakapura road) instead.

Agree Magnum Honda Mekhri circle had a better customer desk and service.

But eventually picked up my Amaze D from Whitefield Honda, Cunnigham Rd. SA was sort of ok to deal with, lacked the technical knowledge of the car but the process, loan documentation and the rest was a breeze.

Regards,
Aneesh.

The workshop guy here has advised me to keep 30 psi for all 4 wheels. Now 30 psi could be alright in the city but i feel its a bit low for the highway with 4 people onboard.

With radial tyres the maximum pressure increase recommended for highways is 2psi! Used to be 4-10 with cross-plies.

Thanks Tiger_Stripes for the pic. I am settled on buying a VX IDTEC, but just before I was handing over the cheque to SA, he informed me that 2014 VX variants still maintain the brown inserts in the dashboard around the audio system.

Can anyone confirm if this is true?

Also, contrary to posts in TBHP, he told that VX model he blocked for me is coming with MRF tyres. I heard everyone saying VX gets bridgestone or goodyears.

Is the SA telling me the truth?

From what I know 2014 variants come with all black dashboard. I don't think they'll change color for a single vx variant. Better ask Honda about it.
Same is with tyres. vx variants come with goodyears (I have amaze vx).
It is possible SA is not telling the truth.
Also check VIN before delivery to find out month and year of manufacture.

Thanks sf. Am going to cross check with other dealer too.
Additionally, will check with Honda directly .
It'd be stupid of Honda of leaving out this change in top variant

Thanks again.

It is difficult to believe the sales guy on the black dash issue because in the attached pic from their website , it's clearly a VX model with its distinctive dual tone treatment on door pads and the beige carpeting - and yes the dash is all black.

Either he is ignorant or he has a 2013 VX to dispose. If he says he has blocked the car for you, he has the VIN number and you can use it to verify month & year of manufacturing. If still in doubt, do a PDI before final payment.

As for the tires, most people have reported Goodyears on the VX, but I guess it's not impossible to get MRFs.

Went for a drive today to attend a function. Rear seats were occupied by three people. Whenever I applied the brakes, moved ahead engaging 1st or 2nd gears after a stop or a slow down, drove over rough roads, the rear seats gave a creaking/squeaking sound as the passengers moved a bit forward or backwards or whenever pressure was exerted on the back seats.

What can be the cause of issue here? The rear seats have no adjustments, they are fixed right? The seat belts were checked.

Doubts cleared. Went to a diff dealership and checked the on display VX trim. Can be clearly seen in pics it's an all black dashboard.

Earlier yesterday I had called Honda helpline on this issue and got a response from an ASM today saying that there has been not a zilch of change in Amaze since launch, so the brown is still there.

Will let the Honda sales guy know if he follows up.

On the tyre front, yes there is no surety what you'll get- the display VX was wearing Goodyear. But even in GTO's official review, it was an MRF. Not sure if the so called rule on tyres is a recent thing only.

Anyway booked VXMT iVTEC after many test drives of diesel n petrol. Running wise diesel wouldn't have made sense for me but still was inclined due to the power n torque at low rpms. But the NVH levels made me go for petrol only. May be it wasn't that bad but being a petrol car owner always, was difficult to adjust too. Moreover, was worried if it could get worse after a couple of years.
iVTEC should give peace of mind I think.

I got a decent deal on the Amaze, will reveal once finalized.
