Berry, have the in cabin air filter checked. If choked this leads to a Jet engine type of noise. I would have pointed this out earlier but the noise increasing with acceleration is not something that is associated with a choked filter though the noise will increase as the fan blower speed is increased. Now that you have eliminated most other probable causes this seems obvious.

BS Motoring's tests seem to have reflected a sub-10 second 0 - 100 for the GT TSI, as tweeted by Rohin Nagrani.

I had taken a Test Drive of this car a couple of days back and boy am I impressed. I now so badly want this car, just that I cannot justify the cost of it to anyone other than my heart.

I did some trials over very large speed breakers (with 3 people inside and one that my Tata Vista scrapes) and the ground clearance was also good. I pulled an overtaking manoeuvre in S mode and the acceleration was simply incredible. Once the turbo has spooled up, the car just races away like there is no tomorrow.

The feel is brilliant of course and the car simply has such understated beauty and elegance. Its a pleasure to hold and a pleasure to drive.

I'm definitely envious of those owners now

It is ABRA ambattur. I will definitely do a proper check and have been assured that it is a new vehicle. ETA is 4 weeks from today. So so happy.

Congratulations! Beautiful red number there.

Did you manage to get the air-con issue checked?

Congrats!! Do share the OTR breakup and any freebies. Any particular reason for choosing ABRA ? Do you have any experience with sundaram VW ? How do they compare regarding customer care and ASS ?

I'm awaiting the OTR breakup. Will share the same once I have it. I heard more horror stories about sundaram VW than ABRA. I went primarily with ABRA because the SA did not try to take me for a ride during the initial TD and was well trained about the GT. No freebies other than 6K discount.

How about getting insurance done from outside? You could save upto 10k on it.

In case you do not know, sell your old car & THEN buy the new car. The no-claim bonus on it is transferrable to your new insurance. Depending on the car, this can be very significant.

I got a total saving of about 19000 bucks over insurance. What I did was transfer my Punto's insurance on to it, I had 65% no claim bonus, plus the zero dep insurance from Tata Aig was already 13000 cheaper than what VW guys had quoted to me.

VW zero Dep insurance - Rs.29665
Tata Aig zero dep from outside - Rs. 11390

I also managed to snatch original floor mats and mudflaps from the dealership as the freebie ones were duplicate and I threatened them with dire consequences of reporting it VW corporate office, (I know a few people who control dealer network).

I even did not pay the so called "wax polish and number plate charges" of Rs.6,000 as they were trying to clad some profit with this nomenclature which does not make sense at all.
