Thanks
Nexa Extended Warranty and Maruti Extended warranty are same. NEXA cars can be serviced and Warranty claims can be done in any MASS

Thanks. I didn't knew there was a difference, will ask the RM.

In case it is from NEXA, from where can you get the Maruti one?

That is what I was also think after reading the following info on the NEXA website

The NEXA Extended Warranty Advantages:
  • Maruti Suzuki Insurance
  • Flexibility to approach any dealer in the country for warranty claims
  • One time payment only, so protection against rising costs of parts and labor
  • Total peace of mind, full cover for risks against manufacturing defects
  • Nominal price to pay
  • Better resale value of vehicles

One never knows if there is a hidden clause somewhere. I could not find detailed Terms & Conditions for the NEXA Warranty.

By the way any idea what this term "protection against rising costs of parts and labor" would mean?

I got my 1.3 zeta last week. Very happy with the car so far. A few quick notes on the irritants experienced
1. The control buttons on the door are not illuminated. Till you become familiar with the buttons, you tend to fumble with them in the dark.
2. NVH compared to my previous car (1 gen Jazz) is inferior. It is a noisy engine and the noise does creeps in.
3. Nexa experience was not great. They are understaffed and not yet reached that optimum operational efficiency.
So far FE shows 16 in city traffic, hope it will improve a little more after the run-in period.

One reason why I'm seriously considering it too. Could I bother you for some interior and exterior pictures?

So happy to hear!

My last Marutis were a '95 Zen & '96 Esteem. They only visited Vitesse and I always received excellent service. Good to hear that a top-notch organisation has maintained its service quality across the years.

I don't see anything special about this. And what does warranty have to do with insurance?

I think extended warranty programs are backed by an insurance provider. Even the extended warranty given to normal Maruti vehicles is backed by an insurance company. I have seen such an extended warranty booklet and it has the logo of the insurance company on the front page of the booklet.

In fact, recently when a friend of mine was purchasing a Skoda Rapid, the dealer told him that he will not get extended warranty if he does not do the car insurance with their preferred insurance partner. Presumably, the extended warranty is given by that very insurance partner.

No idea what does this insurance mean? (did they mean assurance?)

I also did not understand what does one time payment for price protection against labor and parts actually translate to. Have mailed the company to provide a detailed terms and conditions document.

I think, they mean that you pay one time the cost of extended warranty and you will be safe from the changing prices of spare parts and labor. In case of repairs under warranty, parts covered under warranty and labor charges to replace that are not charged.

Test drove the S Cross for the first time today. Demo car was a 1.6 Zeta. Brown, pretty new and in good condition.
Some impressions:
- classic crossover shape and size, definitely not an SUV. The looks will probably grow on you, especially the front. Rear looks nice, a bit like an X1! Doesn't have a great road presence like a Creta or even an Ecosport. Understated is the word.
- interiors are of very good quality and feels great to the touch. Apart from the power window and orvm switches borrowed from the Swift, you wouldn't think this was a Maruti
- Front seat is decent but lacks under thigh support for taller people. No lumbar support adjustment. Also, I wasn't able to stretch my leg even with the seat pushed back all the way (I'm a shade over 6'). Wonder if that'll cause a sore leg and back after long or rush hour drives.
- Ergonomics are good and everything falls to hand naturally. The elbow cushioning on the door armrests are great
- Fairly loaded. Has most features one might expect these days
- Rear seats are very comfy and spacious and offer good back support. The headrests are a fail though and they will push your head/neck forward as noted by others. Leg space was great... I was comfortable even with the front seat pushed back all the way.
- the 1.6 is a great car to drive. Bit flat at low revs but the turbo kicks in post 1500 rpm and really propels you forward. Addictive torque!! Loved the performance
- handles well (didn't really get a chance to chuck it around though) and the steering was pretty communicative. Much better than the Hyundais.
- ride was compliant and bad roads/potholes were dealt with nicely
- stock JK tyres are poor. Felt a distinct lack of grip when the torque kicked in. Would be the first thing to upgrade if one buys this car. Wider tyres would fill out the wheel arches better too, aiding in the looks department (warranty implications?). Interestingly the SA claimed that the Alpha came shod with Apollo Accelere tyres. Is this true?
- now the best part... With the price cut, the top end 1.6 Alpha costs 13.5L on road in Kolkata. That's a whopping two lakhs less than last week!!
- this dealer has a 1.6 Xeta White in stock, others would take 1-2 months to deliver.

Very tempting car indeed at this price..! The Creta is nicer looking and more of an SUV but the S cross is serious vfm and a great package if one can be at peace with the looks.

Attaching the updated price list for Kolkata for reference.

Got chance to see the DDiS200 and DDiS320 being serviced at the Authorized service center. Out of 7 S Cross's today 3 were DDiS320 ( first service) - 1,6 seem to have picked up in sales.

Here are some pics,

Nexa cars are serviced in bays earmarked thus and done by personnel trained for the Baleno/ S Cross, as of now. More bays will be added on in future. Average of 12 Balenos and 8 S cross's are being service on week ends.

Even the receiving area is earmarked for Nexa Cars,

Visited Nexa Viman nagar, Pune to check out S-Cross 1.6.

Nexa experience was anything sans premium. In fact I didn't find any difference except suited RMs with TouchPads. Attaching herewith the price list after correction. In PMC 1.6 costs 1,418,416. When enquired about discounts he offered me further cash discount of 30k+10k corporate discount on alpha variant along with free basic accessories.

What is worrying is the car which I test drove. It was 1.6 Alpha variant whose A/C compressor was removed. Odometer, RPM disabled. RM said the test drive car is out of city. And this car needs to be delivered at Nashik/Solapur. Which means a customer's car was getting test driven.

This could be happening across country as Nexa's reach is limited and to cater to demand from tier 2 and tier 3 cities, they have to be dependant on other dealers. I felt very bad for the would be buyer of the car.

Clarification about warranty. The extended warranty was from Sai Service and not Nexa or Maruti. This is why the car had to serviced only at Sai Nexa for the warranty to be valid.
Smart move on their part.
Gullibility on mine
Have now completed close to 700 kms and very happy with the SCross. The fuel consumption figure shows 16.8 km/l. Avg. speed 20 km/hr. So I am quite happy with that.
Its been fun driving and the engine seems a bit more eager to rev as the running in progresses.
Everything held together well,no annoying squeaks or rattles. Quite happy with the sound system so no modifications there. Quite satisfied with the Plati wheels and Michelin tyres.

.
I think you are misinformed by dealer to get the services done only by them. Extended warranty is provided by maruti and it gets updated in Maruti online database. I had bought Extended warranty from NEXA dealer and when I checked at my local MASS system, it was updated.

Has anyone tried tuning boxes or a remap on the 1.3?
Please share your experience on doing one.
