Yes, that's the best way to identify it.

Secondly, read the sticker on left front corner glass, next to the left ORVM.

Thanks,

Hey Naveen, As many have mentioned getting USB connectivity is not easy but AUX is. I have it done from Jayanagar. Its done with a cable attached to the pins on the back of the HU. No cables cut and hence no warranty void. More info in the ICE threads.

Thanks. The VIN is MCA11xxxxxxxxxx35CNZ. There is no White sticker on any of the window side. Today I called three times in Fiat customer care no. They assured me that they will call back me with correct information, but didn't recieve any call. While booking the car also the salesperson confirmed that the car is BS IV version.

@vsk2009. Check your VIN no. again. Check the initial 9-10 digits to know whether it is BS3 or BS4. Examples below

Example 1:
MCA11835F- BS4 1.4 EMOTION
MCA118A5F- BS4 1.4 EMOTION PACK

Example 2:
MCA11835C0- BS3 1.4 EMOTION
MCA1185AC0- BS3 1.4 EMOTION PACK

Thanks. My No is MCA11835F07xxxxxxCNZ. So I think it is BS4. Does the last three letters(CNZ) carry any information?

Yes. The last three letters (CNZ) have a lot of significance.

CNZ= March 2010.
They tell us about the Month and year of manufacture of the car.

I want to ask you guys about the follow me home lights, when the car is off if you pull the headlamp stalk towards you and activate the lights. They are activated only for that time? Is there no way to keep them permanently activated? As in everytime I unlock or lock the car the headlights should come on?

No. There is no permanent activation feature. It wouldn't be good too. The lights will come on even in daytime in that case and even at unwanted time.

^^ Please also post the pics of distance and average speed for which this mileage was acheived. This figure is very hard to achieve under daily use circumstances with comfortable speed with AC on.

On highways i get 18-22kpl, with careful driving with max speed limited to 100kph, AC on. However if i limit the speed to 60-70kph, AC off, with very slow overtaking, absolutely constant accelerator input, no traffic a figure of 27+kpl can easily be achieved.

Default Rack & Pinion Change

Hello
Members I thought i will share this... well I drive a 2010 Fiat punto active and has done about 7000 Kms , The steering for a long time kept feeling heavy and I thought it was because of the bigger tyres that I have put and genrally thought it was a heavy steering , the last few days it had a screetching sound and I had to drop it at A.S.S. Only to Realise My rack and Pinion had a Issue and they duly replaced it Under warranty, now I feel funny driving because the steering had loosened considerably, could someone throw light on this.

I have one question that has been bugging me for a long time. How do we differentiate between a 1.4 Punto and a 1.2 Punto on the road? The Diesel has the MultiJet written on the front grill but I can't find any difference between the Petrol versions. Is there any way to find this without sitting inside the car ? It is easy if it's an ACTIVE or DYNAMIC variant coz these are present only in the 1.2 and 1.3 versions, but 90% of the Puntos i see on the road are the Emotion variants.

Emotion Pack in Petrol has stock alloys and blue n me sticker (if one hasn't removed it yet) and that would be 1.4. Inside you will find lot of difference like auto AC & steering controls with leather trims.

But between an emotion 1.2 & 1.4 its nearly impossible to differentiate. ABS presence in 1.4 emotion is no where mentioned as well.

I think 1.4 Emotion has driver seat height adjustment.
