A new slate grey shade with dark grey painted grille and fog lamp bezels plus blackened headlights should be offered by Fiat now.

Wow Sid! That color looks hot! The smoked lamps are classy.

The new alloys look amazing too! The best looking car just got prettier!

Just thinking, is this going to be the upgrade where they have beige interiors too?

Nice. I like the blackened headlights and the darker grille. Looking at the alloys, guess this is not the GP for India.

How is the new Grey shade in comparison with current Medium Grey, lighter or darker? And will the Slate Grey replace the Medium Grey?

Edit: Just realized that GP in the photo is LHD. Hope there won't be any beige interiors on the offer.

Notice the front ground clearance! Guess its cos of the 16 inch wheels. In such a case the sump guard wont hit the notorious bumps I am sure!

yes true, the puntos i saw in germany and even the which i drove had better ground clearance due to 16" wheels.

but the suspensions on indian puntos are better than european.

fiat did a great work by modifying the suspensions for indian roads

Woah Sid finally some "Desirabley Different" colour on Indian Cars. And what a Car to have this on!!

Sid, Im not trying to get ahead here, but any more updates on the same. As in, would this be just a cosmetic change or you think Fiat might induce the same "Petro-head" rush they did into Linea with this new Avatar of Punto ??

I agree that availability of spares is a pain area in case of Fiat.

I havent heard clutch parts costing 16K (in a normal sedan). Gypsys costs 1.7K, Accents costs ~4K etc.
Again details would help so that we know what you mean by 'clutch parts'.

See one thing I have seen in Fiat is that most of the time they are ready to fix issues. They are bad at certain things, agreed, but then no one is perfect. I have seen people owning a rattling Swift and had to live with it as M.A.S said they cannot do much about it! Similarly I have heard issues related to steering wheel/column in i20 which Hyundai could not fix on this very site.

This car has got 2 reverse lights as well !

We all know the Linea & Punto are getting upgrades, but when is the million dollar question. I think the Auto Expo should give us a clear picture on Fiat's plans.

Some people might not have really experienced the benefit of the 1st and 2nd short gears on punto and linea.

i have experienced it in the extremely steep Oooty ghats while travelling from bandipur.

My linea was fully loaded with luggage and with AC on. there was a swift dezire ahead of me and i was not able to overtake it as there was no space at all.

the issue was i was able to pull in 2nd and 3rd gear. but on hairpin bend i was quickly downshifting to 2nd and linea was immediately jumping ahead.

but the dezire was not pulling at all and it was becoming dead slow on the bends and due to this i had to hit brakes and shift to 1st

after 4-5 turns i lost my patience and i blasted with full horn and flashing my lights to stop the dezire. the owner was damn angry due to this act of mine.

i told him to shift way before the turn and not near the hairpin bend.
then he told me that he is continously driving in 1st and 2nd gear only.

he told me that as soon as he shifted to 2nd the engine was dying and on 1st it was revving high. I smiled and said sorry to him and requested him to let me go ahead and move his car a bit on the left. i had to request him as i was asking him to take his car off the road

i went ahead and i loved the way linea zoomed ahead in 2nd gear.

i must say its a smart engineering by fiat considering the cars weight.

with a swift type gearing - no way a linea with 1290 kgs can climb a ghat like ooty.
