Hmm. Wishing you all the best to convince your better half
What is the waiting period they are telling. I inquired about punto at the promo stall in my office. The SA told 20 days after booking. Also Feb march is the time Fiat gives offers. So by the time your car comes you may be eligible for any price reduction if applicable.

Saw an ad in today's newspaper (Malayala Manorama) with offers on PETROL Linea (upto Rs.1.75L) and Punto (upto Rs.1.4L). But I admit, I didn't read the fine print to check if the offers are on 2011 cars.

What event is this?

I dont know about ability (In these pics - it just looks like its made to jump up a ramp), but it sure looks beautiful - even in mid air!

Do our Indian version get the same underbody protection? Or is it beefed up for the event?

this is a event called FMX Gladiator games.

indian versions too have the same underbody protection. the car looks very stock to me in this event. check the below video.

its a ramp jump- but in a very short start up that too for a heavy car like punto

Yes, the Indian version gets the same kinda protection!

The engine guard is the one mostly hit during bad road conditions.

why don't you tell the forum what parts you're worried about?
Thanks Sukrit7, I got info. regarding warranty on the service booklet but there is no extended warranty booklet. Can you or any other Punto owner confirm that you received extended warranty booklet?

Fiat official informed me that there is no official extended warranty booklet and same stuff is covered which is covered under std. warranty.

Can't be it as I can see similar issue on the unexposed area of the car.

I have brought this to Fiat's notice and already got a call from them assuring me that they are looking into it. Lets see what happens.

I have an extended warranty booklet. Its a diff one compared to the FIAT one. This one is from united india assurance.

I dont think u will have similar rust on other parts. this looks like some object has hit it and kinda pierced the paint and clear coat

I don't think so as I have seen small 'pimple' like things at the place where it chipped off. One more pic for your consideration.

I feel you should take this a bit seriously.

Nothing wrong with the manufacturer to say.

These are glaring symptoms of RUSTING, the car is indeed taking in the weather around it.

Also looks like those bubbling panels were repaired/Dented or re-painted some time recently. If done, its not done correctly as per procedure.

Avoid washing the car frequently.

Keep the car waxed most of the time

Avoid parking the car in direct sunlight.

Thanks for that :-)
We have booked an Oceanic Blue emotion yesterday. The wait period is around 3 weeks, expecting the car around 21 Feb.
Regarding offers in Feb, I've told the SA to extend any additional offers that Fiat will provide to which he has agreed.

I have also requested to do a PDI at their Vasai stock yard which has been agreed. Now can't wait to lay my paws on the car.

Now if only I could attach an AUX-IN to the HU.

Thanks Pawan, I appreciate your response.
Some facts about this car.
  • It has done just over 7K KM's in 2 years which include 4 trips to Goa.
  • 99% of the time its parked under 'covered parking'.
  • Car hardly needs washing and is waxed most of the time.
  • None of the panel was dented or painted.

My main worry is that this paint issue getting escalated in coming months/years and I had to pay for full re-painting!!
