Finally we got a Pre-Owned September 2010 Maruti WagonR K10 with 17,700 kms on ODO for Rs. 3,15,000 & we settled for the same.

The initial drive was little shocking as the lack of power in three cylinder engine was very evident, but over the time, we have adjusted to the driving style. The lack of power is not visible after speeds of 40 kmph.
The overall built & suspension quality is far better than previous generations WagonR's, but the interior plastics seem to be of low quality.

Your car looks stunning. Shows that the previous owner has taken good care of it, its not often you find such gems in the second hand market.

Wagon R was the first ever car we owned that I drove and its the epitome of practicality and no-nonsense ownership experience. I am yet to get that fill it shut it forget it thing with all the subsequent cars we owned. This is my second favourite colour for Wagon R after the blue one.

VXi comes with original maruti wheelcaps. Have you changed them or is it something to do with the previous owner.

Thank you for the good words.

Yes, the Car is very well maintained & at the first look one cannot make out that this is a used Car. Also it had just 17500 on the ODO.

This is first time I am lucky buyiing used Car. In my previous two used Cars, I had bad experiences. But this time I have really got a well maintained Car. Infact I have not spent a single rupee to maintain this Car in last three months.

My Favourite Color in WagonR is Bakers Chocolate.

I am now waiting for trip to Lonavala to test its highway mileage.

Hello Jigar,

Yes Vxi variant comes with maruti Wheel Caps, but the Used Car Dealers replaced those when the Car was delivered to me.

While driving today to home, I was reminded of the request you guys made.

Though I cannot tell the whole RPM range, but we all do agree that 2000 rpm is the sweet spot for this engine.
So I captured the speeds in Km/Hr in each gear from 1 to 4 the car would reach at 2000 RPM.
Sorry did not have chance to test 5th gear.

Here it goes.

1st Gear 2000 RPM at 15 Km/Hr
2nd Gear 2000 RPM at 25 Km/Hr
3rd Gear 2000 RPM at 40 Km/Hr
4th Gear 2000 RPM at 50 Km/Hr.

You could trust these figures as I made observations multiple times. Hope this helps

I guess similar reading at 3K rpm would give us good Idea for compete picture.
Would try to check it if you need it, but only possible next week as I am going
out of station without car.

Got my waggie ICEd today.

HU: JVCX50BT (no CD player but bluetooth enabled)
Front: Rockford Fosgate Punch series Co-axials
Rear: Rockford Fosgate entry level Co-axials
Will update exact model numbers soon.

Damage: 13.5K

Didnt want to go for front components as i was unsure about tweeter placement.


Also an update on FE. My car now has done 170 kms and a quick rouch calculation on FE shows that its at about 11.5 kmpl with 100% AC with 70% city and 30% highway driving.

On a lower side i feel.. isnt it?

Yes. FE of 11.5 seems to be on lower side.

But let us wait for the run-in period & let the engire open up. I think after 1,000 / 1,500 kms the FE will definitely improve.

I am getting FE of approx 12.5 with 50% Ac & 100% City driving.

Tanked up today.
Driven about 50Kms and already theres 1 bar down.
1st bar was down at about 35kms!!!
Counting 10 bars for 35 litres, 1 bar has 3.5 litres!!!
that comes to an average of 10kmpl!!!
Though it was more than 75% city with 100% AC!!!

Nice setup but why you chose one without CD player, I guess CDs are quite handy too!

with 100% AC on I feel this is ok for a brand new engine. Let the engine cross 2K KMs and then only you will know the correct FE.

My i10 iRDE was poor on mileage for first 500KMs but now it has crossed 2K KMs and mileage is impressive 15+.

PS - Please do start a ownership thread with photos of your car/ICE - there are very few ownership reports of WagonR!

recently my wife's office cab which happens to be a new Wagon R met with an accident when it banged up a car in front on the DND.
I went to pick up my wife from the accident site and got to see the knocked up car. The body was quite badly damaged, the bonnet was totally wrecked up.
Thankfully the passengers were quite safe! Atleast the sight of the car suggested worse! It seems the body actually takes max impact and leaves the occupants safer.
My wife as sitting in the front passenger's seat with seat belts, that saved her from crashing into the wind-shield. however, the seatbelt badly cut her neck on the left side!! It was more than a bruise, welting up and slight bleeding as well!!
I find it strange that a safety feature like a seatbelt can end up hurting this bad!!
the belt sides are apparently quite sharp! :O

Thank God that all the occupants were safe. Hope a speedy recovery for your wife.
I also feel that the seat belt edges are quite sharp. One solution for the problem is those after market seat belt covers. Thinking of getting them on my car. My sister also complaints of the seat belt hurting some times.
One positive is that the cars body takes the impact at the time of the crash. Hope nobody has to deal with the situation.

Good to know that all the passengers were safe.

Yes. The Outer body of WagonR gets badly damaged in what seems to be minor accident.

Couple of months back, I was personally involved in WagonR (previous WagonR model) accident & the Outer Body was damaged to a large extent, but the passengers were absolotely safe.

As far as seat belts are concerned, they are manufactured as per international standards, & as suggested above, you may go for seat belt covers.

Thanks for your well wishes.Problem is this s commercial pick-up service that my wife avails and they will not invest in seat belt covers.
Though the ideas is good and i will look then up for my personal car.

Theres those seat belt covers that cover only a small portion. You can use it and then take it away with you as you leave the car. Don't know the price exactly but will be sourcing them for my car.
