Car is updated to latest ECU software ver. 9972 but it still happens once out of blue moon. If you come across a solution, do let us know.
It happens to me as well. I then adjust the temperature (increase/decrease) marginally which seems to bring it back to life. Please do try and let us know.

I wonder if it's possible to order a car with heavy duty suspension, like in early days of Vento in India. Although it might be a long shot, but has anybody tried talking to VW about this?

The running gear codes being G33/G34/G35, and description being something like Polo Hard Strut variants.

Then there is likely the next gen Polo launching next year. Too much stuff going on.

Life cycle of clutch depends on individual usage and driving pattern. Please do see if there is slippage, excessive hardness of the clutch, grinding noise etc. and take a call. I my case SA recommended clutch change at 4th Service and I did not change it and in 5th service SA said it can hold for another 10K kms. You have already done 1L kms and check the symptoms and decide.

Hi Guys,
I have read lots of post about VW suspension (Coolboy TRW installation and feedback of owners of earlier batch of Vento after suspension change). Somehow I have always been worried what will happen and how car will behave when i change my Vento suspension parts.

I have Dec 2010 Vento 1.6TDI, It has clocked 57K till now with everything stock. Lately there has been grinding noise and suspension parts have cuts/play in them when checked today.

Following is the quote i have got from VW workshop:

Mount bush + stopper: 4,500
Link Roads : 5,000
Suspension Arm: 4,000
Jumping Rod bush: 1000

Including labour etc it will come down to 17-18K.

My question mainly is
- which of these parts should be installed OEM ones for safety purpose
- which among them is better to install from after market (Based on personal feedback and how VW are going for softer suspension). What brand should i get installed.

PS: I have not given my car for changing. I wanted to do some research first. On other hand SA strongly suggested to get suspension arm replaced since it has completely worn out.

I took delivery of the Vento TSI higline 2 weeks ago.

What a car!

I am loving the experience so far. I have been very light on the accelerator until now, waiting to hit 1,500 Kms before really experiencing the car. I'll post a detailed review once the car does about 3,000 kms.

Many thanks AutoInt.

On road price was 13.1 Lakhs for the TSI DSG.

This was after the following discounts

50K VW discount
26.5K Dealer Discount
Bumper to Bumper Insurance from Royal Sundaram was cheaper than dealer's by 40K
I added extended warranty for 18K

Please wait for my ownership review for photos.

Hi AutoInt,

Vento TSI is only available in Auto (7 DSG box). No manual option on offer.
I got mine in April with on-road price of 12.55 lakhs, which includes, besides the car:
1. Extended Warranty
2. Leather seats stain protection
3. Gloss black roof wrap
4. Gloss black trunk spoiler
5. Standard 0-Dep warranty by VW

I got it registered from Kolhapur RTO and it proved to be almost 50k cheaper versus Pune registration. (Pune has added LBT - Local Body Tax)

I also got a Paint Protection done from 3M which cost me around 3k after a 20% discount.

Let me know if you need more details.

Thanks

One query:

I see many Ventos which have some sort of a thick mettalic wire hanging at the bottom near the rear wheels. I am not sure what this is. I always observe every Vento which I see and this hanging thingy really concerns me. I could not find out what it is.

Thanks.

It is the handbrake cable. I don't think you should be worried, it is unlikely to be an issue apart from taking a little away from the aesthetics.

The wiper blades are due for a change in my car. Which brand should I be looking at? Is there any brand which I should avoid at all costs? Performance is priority.

Go for Hella Dynaedge frameless wiper blades. Arguably the best available in the market. You will enjoy the clean wipes during those heavy downpours.

Have a safe and enjoyable monsoon drive ahead.

Was inquiring about a Diesel Vento, and the SA said delivery will take upto 3 months.
Apparently they are not making them for a while now?
