Lambretta scooter lovers here ?

Hi Guys, Just want to be sure if these OIL SEEALS are fo Lambretta

7D30528 MAKE -DERBY
11M/52336/B Make -Fenner pioneer

given to me for free by an owner who owned a Lambretta once these oil seals are as hard as rock now cant be used for sure .

But want to know where do these oil seals apply meaning for kick shaft of Crank?????

I mean Kickshaft OR Crank ?????

30528 = OD - 52 mm, ID - 30 mm, Thickness - 8 mm.
52336 = OD - 52 mm, ID - 33 mm, Thickness - 6 mm.
This cannot be for kick shaft because it kick shaft dia is of the order of 20 to 25 mm. The one you have is meant for Crankshaft or rear wheel bearing.

Anyway rock hard oil seals are of no use. For new ones you can hunt for it at Nanapet or measure the OD, ID and Thickness and get new ones from any Hydraulic & pneumatic components shop where you can find infinite variants of oil seals.

Thanks Ilango , also wanted to know what type of washers are used for the Rims (x4 for the rims , x4 for the rim to Hub )

For a nylon lined self locking nut ( For Ex: http://www.jamestowndistributors.com...s/00002190.jpg)
a simple plain wahser will do. For a regular (Ex: http://www.britishfasteners.com/images/nut2.gif) nut a spring washer is preferable. This applies both to the rim and the hub. For a scooter you will need 4 x 3 x 2 = 24 nuts and washers.
My personal preference would be a nut like this

Also had a look in my inventory for oil seal sizes.
50336 - CS drive side seal
32456 - Flywheel side (small one)
33526 - Not sure if it is for flywheel or rear wheel bearing (please confirm with experts)

MAC 175 is not a direct lift from the autorickshaw engine. In fact, i am looking for a MAC 175 gearset, main shaft and counter gears for a project of mine. Please PM if you come across these spares.

'saw these 2 series 2 in bits and pieces in the same garage where mine is getting restored.

The cream and maroon one belongs to one of the mechanics there, and seems to have been stripped up and done up but left incomplete without fitting back. 'has been like this for the last 3 years and they now intend to put her together finally.
Note the XXL "family special" rear seat btw!

The white and blue one also lies stripped up inside this huge trunk there. No engine and papers. 'seems to be a '60/61 model going by the horncast.

Here's the same scooter being put together now.
I like that chromed kick-start pedal. I was told they got it plated locally but I have my own doubts...looks too good to have been done locally.

It would look so much better with the normal two-tone paintjob. IMHO, the colour scheme is not too nice to look at...

Many 'lower-level' guys who have old vehicles, despite having the interest, don't really understand the value of originality. They think these rides will look better in some fancy hues!
Infact there were a couple of guys who were present at the place when I was checking the side-panels etc. on my 'MDS'. They seemed to be mechanics. One of them, though appreciative of my scoot, commented "iska painting zara hatke karAne ki baath thi! Kuch metallic colouraan mein...".....

Oh well, to each their own!

I agree with you Shyam, but each one has is preference and would lov to see the scooter the way he/she loves to. At least he developed the interest to put back his scooter and start using it. I believe you were his inspiration for making him assemble the scooter and bring it back to live. His interest needs to be appreciated, and simply ignore the comments which you feel worthless.

Hii all,

Here is some info on procuring Crankshaft bearings for Lambretta scooters.
The drive side ball bearing 6305 is the same as that comes on a Pulsar. For Pulsar it is sold as a pair and that comes down at a cheaper price as compared to hunting for one. (Ex: A pair of SKF 6305 C3 (10000 rpm range) bearing < Rs 300 at the SKF distributer, while we pay more than 1.5 times at the automobile store.)
Same way the Flywheel side roller bearing NU205 is the same as that used in a 350cc bullet, again going for a pair you pay lesser.

Will update you with a list of oil seals and their sizes, required for building a Lambretta engine.
