Even this white car has the swooping continous arc from the headlight to taillight (continous seen from any angle).

Now, the drawings might not change, but a little unnoted change in the way front wings/fender are fitted could have resulted in this change. We have another 1100d in the family and that too shows the same traits.

Now, could this observed body differences be a real difference between Italian bodied cars and their Indian assembled counterparts? Now when I think of it, even the other LHD fiat belonging to Rony displayed the same continous arc.

I beleive it could do with the beam that supports the top part of the radiator holding the fenders together. (In a sence that there could be small pre-fitting angular differences with the same developed plate surface)

The only change on our car has been the front lower panel that has the extra openings, which looks much more cool than the blocked one. Likewise on the white car.

Well, this white car was built in Kurla in 95/6, and is otherwise exactly a Padmini S1 barring the left hand config (and the locks flip the other way around). So rule out any variation in body panels.

Nope, that means you speak of Dr Pants car. MHJ 7151 or something. I havent seen it, though Behram has. MZA 1550 im told is a creamish colour.

this car was made in kurla and exported to abu dabhi...and was re-imported in 1998..

- This one is a floor shift. Did it come with a Fiat gearbox or the one from Nissan?
- Is the AC after market or a factory offering?
- What is that small rotary switch next to the instrument console?
- Could you please put up closeup pictures of the badges on the boot? What do they read?

Is there a Fiat floor shift tranny available for the 1100? Can column shift be retrofitted on this one?

Closer look revealed a small Fiat Badge under the Padmini monogram on the LHS of the boot lid. The same badge that comes on the slower than the Padmini, Palio .

That ignition key position!! Horrible. When I had converted ours to the steering locking column, had to have this ignition as dummy. The dash center mounted ignition remained.
