Very nice work. I know where this was done or rather we all know. My only wish - that the original paint scheme of the ancillaries was addressed too, while doing this good work.

Will soon post that. But most of the chassis components are red oxide color.

Hello Himura san!

Nice to see your post

I could get HK / Kafila / Ganes brands here, can you please let me know which is the best of these? How to check if the spiders are worn and its absolutely necessary to change them?

PAL-PAR (original factory ones) spider kit with bushing was available a few weeks back and I had got one set for a fellow Bhpian from your city.
Since it was rare (packed in1992) only ALLENA brand is available now

Ha ha, thanks a ton for the rare stuff . I was surprised to see the spider kit. This would do much justice to my car.

Got the SS home 2 weeks back. Drives beautifully. The drive from Walayar to Coimbatore was fantastic. No rattles or squeaks and car stops in a straight line. Engine idles well, thanks to the timing and carb corrections.

Some pics:

These were the pics I received over WA.

The re-painted rear

And that's how I saw her for the first time in many months

Fueling up en-route Coimbatore

Next day was a lunch meet in Coimbatore with fellow BHP'ians!

Next in line was number plates (rear had broken) and of course tyres. Tried few sources and couldn't get any nylons. Now my vacation was over and I was back in Bangalore leaving the car behind at home in Coimbatore.

Was contemplating on radials and every time I think about that, I get reminded of Behram sir note on never to do that. Then tried my luck at the MRF site and wrote to them on their website. Very next day I get a call from the regional manager of Coimbatore who said that tyres are available in Salem and if I'm ready then they can ship it to a dealer in Coimbatore from where I can pick them and they needed 2-3 days for that.

I was more than happy and finalized the same. Five minutes later, they call me back saying that one of their dealers in Coimbatore has stock of the same already and I can pick it up the same day. Since I was not in town, requested DRIV3R to help pick it up and it was happy to help.

So the tyres were at my house the same day. Things happened super fast and tons of thanks to MRF for the swift response on my query. Price offered to me was Rs.2500 per tyre (tube included).

The MRF Legends loaded

Was in Coimbatore last weekend and got the legends installed! Headed to Tyre Care in RS Puram. This was a new branch recently opened. The other branch is near Women's Polytechnic.

Post tyre change the ride quality has improved a lot. The outgoing tyre's were 10 years old! Found the date as 2006 when they were removed!

Looks very odd now without the 'white walls'. Thinking of inserts now

Glad to note that you could source nylon tyres for your Fiat. Can you share the contact number of the dealer please as I would be interested in buying for my super select. Iam based at Bangalore

I contacted MRF through their website and a representative from my city called me. I would suggest you try the same. If it doesn't work out, do let me know and I will give you the contact I have.
