Yes you are correct Haritji.Actually the ""D "" stands for ""DEUTSCHLAND"" which is GERMANY. The plaque in this car is actually a repro one.Original one is made by WEGU and comes in two variants the lighted D badge and the ordinary D plate.

Nice red VW.
The only thing as has been mentioned in the thread is that the D for Deutschland has to be mounted at the rear and not in front.
