Hats off to Pavan who has no hesitation about customizing build/restoration plans depending on the budget of each client, as long as it means keeping another vw alive. Enjoyed the super biriyani too !

Anyways, I am glad 8010 is in his hands and can finally be completed (better late than never) as planned although 15 years behind schedule.
Sir it was indeed my pleasure in meeting the stalwarts of Tiger Motor-sports

The build is on track , will post some updates over the weekend, now that ur 504 has taken my time off in the recent 4 days

99% of the bodywork complete, the last 1% would be the Seat rails that should be landing here in the next 2 days time.

The car gets its First coat of Surfacer, and i am mightily pleased with its present bodyline There are some minor mechanical work that is pending, should be complete the moment i receive the Original Fuel pump + Header and Exhaust assembly, again, that might land in a day or 2.

Finally the Exhaust and the seat rail arrive This exhaust is by far the Best i have seen so far, at a price range of under 9k ( all inclusive )

The car is now very close to get its Final Surfacer and head straight to the paint booth.

90% of the Body prep work completed, One final coat of Glasurit Surfacer and the Bug is good to go to the Paint booth.

While we are busy completing the bodywork, Sanjay and Arjun have completed ordering Body rubber kits and chrome trims Plus the lowering Suspension kits.

Awaiting the rubber parts so that we can dry fit them and get the Bug into the paint booth, hopeful to receive it in a couple of days time.

In the mean while we are looking at every nook and corner of the Bug.

Nice super beetle on the way, very similar to mine 1302 S but mine is 71 and she is 72 both have the straight windscreen but i saw a little difference in the front apron as mine is vented and this one is not may be due to different countries as vw had many versions and variations as per countries and regarding the exhaust i am also using it in my another 71 sedan and bought it from US and was told as OE on Mexican bug was also attracted for the price factor, it is good rather very good but a little thing to note -we can not expect the typical vw silencer notes( if you are fascinated with them). all the best and we all look forward for another classic vw rolling on Indian roads, here are some pictures of mine, keep us all updated.

So we complete 100% of the Bodywork, and later realized, the engine room had remained untouched. Got my mechanic and got the engine down. On close inspection, found some nice surprises

1) The Releaser Bearing is BRAND NEW
2) Polyurethane engine mounts - fantastic upgrade i must say
3) Exhaust J pipes modified / missing ( This one is on the negative side ) We will address that, not an issue.

Sanjay sent me the Full body Rubber and Chrome kits imported from J-Bugs, also some nice upgrades that u guys will see very soon.

Couple of days more for prepping up the engine room, and the car is good to go to the paint booth.

Finally after all these months, the Beetle is now ready to hit the paint booth.

Interiors were treated with Epoxy primer, but just add a little bit of extra protection, we sprayed it with an Economy paint of the same shade.

Paint purchased, Booth booked, Flat bed booked, time for some action tomorrow

Couldn't agree more, it has been one LONG wait, but am sure the result will be worth every dime per second that we all have waited.

My job for the day is F5 though I feel it would not be before evening or tomorrow that you would treat us.

Any WIP teaser pics would be more than welcome!

Cheers!

Usually i stay away from any bodywork during monsoons, just as the Bangalore Monsoons has now subsided, its now time to complete this project.

Here you go with the updates.

One more round of Wet-sanding done.

One more final coat of Glasurit surfacer sprayed ( Non-Sanding type )

Dashboard painted Dupont Satin Black ( As requested by the car owner )

Baked the surface and let the car settle down untill tomorrow morning.

Main Action begins tomorrow morning, and updates by end of day.
