Ilango, nice scooter but why under Classic section? Please add the restoration bit under the Motorcycles Section.

Or are we going the M800 way here too? 25+ is Classic. I am Classic too then, I was born in 1980 and i thought i was still young

HI,
Well the seat is a original SIL seat, have seen it in a couple of scooters of my dad's friends.

Well, I doubt its an original SIL fitment- my mk2 Vijai didn't have it, in fact no Vijai I have seen has had this kind of seat, so to speak. They all had the regular sprung seat as on the Lambretta.

Hi Manish,
Thanks for the compliment. Yes the carburettor is new, one from Micarb.
Well, I had done this indicator work while I was waiting for my XII class results. Didnt have much idea on the original looks of the indicator. It was done more for a functional requirement. The indicator you had mentioned looks like the rectangular indicator is some TVS - Suzuki 100 CC bikes (probably 1 version of Msx 100 R, not sure).

@Shyam - Not much Vijais were seen with this seat. But trust me, this is the original seat with which the scooter came home and only under went rexin work a couple of times. Nothing else has been modified. Also I find this seat to be far comfortable than the sprung seat.

Congrats, Karl! Nice scoot...does it have 6V or 12V electricals? Any idea how it got into India?

@ Ilango: Nice scoot! You plan to do anything further on it?

I haven't taken delivery yet, so I'm not sure. How it came to India? Who knows. The first owner (in Ooty) sold it around 1970. I think a majority of these scooters came in with missionaries/priests/churches and people returning to India after having worked overseas.

Dig around a bit! Over here, some Mumbaikars were discussing where to restore a Vespa: http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/post-1...ml#post1546912
I suggest you contact these TBHPians, they can point you in the right direction!

Hey Folks,
I visited Ilangos PLace today! man he's done a great job on his scoot!
Also saw he's workshop, it was pretty cool with possibly all the things you need to build one lambro.
He's got some great knowledge and would be a big help for ma project, would start my paint job tomorrow if everything goes well
And yes Ilango would be with me !
