Ha! I even flag down every interesting looking car off the road (eg. at the scrapyard!) and ask them to give it to me although they wouldnt necessarily agree!

Mate,
I saw one Fiat 122 ( I think its 1952 or 1976 model, couldnt remember on what the guy told) in a dealer's shop in Banaswadi,Bangalore. The consultant told me its an imported car, but I'm not sure whether its true. I had a look at the car. The body line looks OK. However, interiors are bad in shape. I asked him to open the bonnet. Its not bad for a 50 years old car. The guy told me that the owner is expecting 40k for the car. If any is interested, you can contact the guy at -9880835256 (Vinnoli)

Default Fiat 1100r

Could someone help me out as to which model Fiat that is? It had a squarish rear, kind of like a 118NE and the dashboard too was angular and not rounded like the Padmini's.

Sorry, I didn't take any more photographs though.
This is a FIAT 1100R introduced in 1966, and produced up to 1969. this car was introduced the same time as the FIAT 124, and while the FIAT 1100D was phasing out. It looks in between the FIAT 1100R and FIAT 124.

These are some of the technical features of the car:

1) engine is 1089cc, 55 BHP at 5300 rpm, compression ratio, 8:1
2) front grill larger than FIAT 1100D, different lower beams
3) interior speedo cluster similar to FIAT 850 and 124 series
4) modified gear shift to floor shift
5) front disc brakes fitted as the FIAT 850 special
6) all 13 inch wheels
7) rear leaf springs different to suit lower ride height
8) differential ratio = 43/10 in the sedan like the other FIAT 1100 models
Differential ratio for station wagon = 40/9, limiting top speed but increasing carrying capacity torque
9) rear wheel cylinders are inch in diameter
10) longer and square rear boot similar to FIAT 124
11) petrol tank as the FIAT 124 fitted inside boot RHS
12) filler cap on RHS of car
13) rear tails lights as the FIAT 850
14) front bonnet opens from windscreen side like the FIAT 124
15) divided 2 piece propshaft with hanger bearing like the FIAT 1100TV and 1200 models
16) engine has 1 FULL FLOW OIL filter (better) mounted externally, spin-on type. The reilief valve is fitted on the pump. Note there is no external main filter (gauze) like the other FIAT 1100 models. All other FIAT 1100 models have 2 oil filters, 1 main oil filter and the other a BY-PASS oil filter (either cartridge or spin-on)

There has never been a FIAT 1100R Abarth, I think someone has modified the front of this particular car by fitting 2 extra lights and the Abarth badge.

The only FIAT 1100 Abarth produced was the 207 series.

I hope this information helps
Happy Motoring

From the photo it doesn't look like the original steering wheel.
Also the chrome stripe on the windscreen beading is rare and tough to find.I am traversing the length and breadth of the nation to find these for the front and rear. The steering and the original side valve are all there in my good Ol' Landy.

Any idea egangsta about the going price of the Nasik car?
The black one from Bangalore that you've featured has the chrome strip on the front beading.

Hi Harrie! Are you talking about the red MR2 or the black one?
