Excellent Choice.Your Dad would love it

Of course we do see Herald cars.

But who would sell them?

Already Mr.Behram(Std10) and Pune Bike(Herald) are in the queue to buy one(or two ).

Exactly!

Ironically they didnt have so much demand 10-15 years ago when they were selling for peanuts at the scrapyards (in this case I'm referring to Hyd.) every single day! Maruti seemed to be the only thing worth being called a 'car' by the yuppy Indian back then! :(

Ensign was another car sold by Standard motors. When the Herald was launched in India, it was badged a Standard, not Triumph. So they used the base of the Ensign badge on the bonnet, with a Standard script on it.

I might add that even the "Standard" script badge which was fitted onto this ENSIGN badge base (and fitted separately on the bootlids of mk1 Heralds) was actually the one used on older Standard 10s and Vanguards!
There were too many of them to be considered as "leftovers" so they might've just continued in production!

Brat: Regarding spares, I'm afraid I've been doing much of scrougning around myself! Which is why I took this long to start actual restoration on my Herald! I can suggest a good place to try is the gujiri at Sivaji Nagar- ask for Pasha/Basha (be warned tho- he quotes steep prices!) or Ameen (he speaks English too!) there. And btw, if you do get to meet Ameen do try for a left quarterglass for Herald....a friend of mine needs it.

Stanher,

Its Ghee Basha- he's not expensive, but forgets what he has in store, i turned his shop upside down during my Beetle restoration and lucky me i got lots of stuff from him and reasonable price.

Ameen and Muneer are brothers and damn they are really expensive, but yes they do have good stuff stocked.
