Going by today's situation it would need to be advanced by another whole decade!!

these things are a beauty man having top speed of 100+ kms
extremely stable at any speed mainly due to the centrally placed engine
had one myself in the family for about 40yrs and still was a half kick start
learnt all the basics of balancing around on the road sneaking out my fathers lambretta having MXJ 4180 plates without a license
father had to sell it in 1997 due to moms pressure of fuel economy, tried to get it back but the guy scrapped it

hey did anyone see it?

This LD used to be regularly spotted zipping about Pune's then empty streets. Belonged to a mechanic who had a couple of other interesting Lambrettas. Wonder if he still has it. Picture atleast 10 years old.

Hahaha! No use in asking him to keep an eye/ear out for you, dussey! If at all any such thing comes up for sale, he is sure to try & acquire it himself!
Unless of course it doesnt come for the rock-bottom price he expects, in which case alone he'd be happy to pass it on to you, right karl?

I saw one report in one of the news channel (Awaaz) that one guy in Mysore have lots of collections of vintage Lambrettas. He is maintaining it quite well and using it in some vintage rallys.

He is having some very rare scooters with him and according to him he is just mad about these vintage scooters.

Any Mysore guys knows him (Sardarjee)?

Here is a real curio. Ive had this badge since I was a kid, it was given to me by a classmate. (Dont ask me how he got it!) Ive never heard any other mention or reference to the Poona Lambretta Club, and Ive asked many oldies as well. I have seen one 60 model scoot with 2 holes in the legshield that match this badge, but the owner is no more so couldnt get any details. I think it looks superb and is obviously period correct. Ill be fitting it to my 62 model when complete.

Its news to me that there was a Lambretta Club in Poona. My uncle from Pune owned two Lambrettas
(1) LD 150 (1955) BYH 6075 fully white in colour -first owner and original paint
(2) LI 150 (1965) MHP 9173 fully grey in colour-again first owner and original paint.
Unfortunately he is no more or else I could have known some facts from him.

Wow, lovely scoot! Forgive me for asking but is the side car original with respect to LDs??

Aside, I think this whole thread ought to be merged with the Lambretta scooter lovers thread (motorbikes section)
