, Sirjee, just imagine you are driving around Bangalore, i recognize your car, but we've not met, and i am following your car, how do we get to know the fellow T-BHP'ian.

So we've hit upon one tell tale method of letting one know that i am from T-BHP by flashing headlights and honking.

This might not work all times, but just giving it a try.

Now with the regular updates

All set for painting, the Bus now gets ready for painting.

As per my procedural approach, we go about like this, since the paint decided is two shade. Top and pillars will go with white and the rest of the body will get painted Yellow.

These shades were decided after lot of discussions at home, doing a lot of permutation and combination of colors. The paint shade was an original Volkswagen shade from Dupont(White - Reinwelib white F9283 and Yellow - Zitrus P4930).

1) Get my painter a new spray gun
2) Paint the wheel arches yellow
3) Get the White paint to complete the Roof, Pillars and Bumpers

Let the pics speak.

And some more pics

This paint needs to dry for atleast 3 days, after which the whole top and pillars will be masked, dull the body parts where the white is being oversprayed, and then start with the yellow.

The final coats of yellow will go in probably by this weekend. Taking it a bit slow as i want to stay when the painting is done. Weekend being an off at office will complete.

Thank you guys, will be completing the final coats by this weekend.

Thats where the beauty of a Baywindow lies.

The split bus looks too feminish compared to the Bay's, and any day i prefer the Bay since they are great performers on road.

Yes that movie was a dud, but the VW Bus rocked in the Song, Watch Little Miss Sunshine, There the VW Bay also is good and even the movie is hilarious

I do have all the original glasses, the front two quarter glasses are missing, which i am replacing with Atul-tuff glasses.

Need to search for some old system, not found one as of now

You just split my heart into two by saying this...LOL. I love all models of the VW buses but my preference is in the same order that they were released. For me the Splitwindow comes first, next the Bay and then the Transporter.

But regarding the missing 'V' on a baywindow, I'll second Karl on that. I really like that 'V' shape along with that huge VW logo on the front of the microbus. To me, there are a few things about the front end of the split-window namely 'V' shape, shape of the headlights, butterfly bumpers (early models) that make it look like a relative of the Beetle.

I have only seen one Splitwindow in person(even you were with me) and a few Baywindows including yours. Are Splitwindows shorter than the Baywindows in length?

Nevertheless, buses like yours are very rare. She is coming up very nicely.
