Today (10th Jan '10) I had been to the road proposed for the 26th Jan RALLY (Road running parallel to the railway track in Kumara-Park area). Its a well asphalted road with good greenery on one side. But there were many vehicles parked on the non-residential side. May be its the residents cars, but there were some auto-rickshaws too. Here are a few pictures of the area.

After I personally inspect the area, I feel that we would not get continuous parking in-line, will have breaks by some non-FIATs. Also the foot-path is not clean and a lot of construction materials dumped onto them.

Being an Automobile Engineering student you are saying this

Karthik M B wanted to become a Automobile Engineer, but landed up in Business. I wish he had studied Automobile Engineering.

What to do? When am alone or with friends its okay but when with family its a different experience of breaking down in the middle of the highway. Its maddening.
Palace will be booked already for sure, also a international industrial fare going to happen there in future, so for sure we won't get that place.
We can go about with the Kumara-park area or Cubbon-Park itself.

Karthik Makam had given his car for painting and other minor repairs as you all know. The car was delivered to Makam on 14th Jan '10 and here are a few pics right from the garage.

Makam or Arun will explain the works carried out on the car. But for now here are the pictures.

Btw I don't mean to be picky, but is there some work pending / needed on the rear bumper ?

Ya there is slight damage to the rear bumper, trying to correct it would ruin the chrome plating. This project wasn't complete restoration/overhauling.

Both the bumpers and all the lights are yet to be changed.

Yeah, the paint work done is really good.

The car was restored in LCK Garage near Lalbagh. Mr. Kannan is the owner of the Garage.

The car is looking great and nice set of half plastic wheel caps too. the painter must be a pro and his work shows it all.

Thanks guys! I am overwhelmed and very excited getting my car back. Some of the things pending of our plan was: Changing the front parking lights, number plate lights, tail lamps and both bumpers. Apart from this the wiper doesnt wipe fully, needs to be fixed. All this will be done slowly in the next 10 days.

Thanks Arun and Sujith for the unconditional support and motivation. Special thanks to Arun for covering me when I was out of town. He updated me and the thread on a very timely basis.

I also want to thank Kannan sir (LCK Auto garage) for taking my car in. Thanks again to Shareif sir for suggesting Kannan's garage as a one stop place for all the troubles I was facing.

I will post some more pics from my camera later in the day

Our newest member of Fiat Club Bangalore is checking out if a Rally can be held in front of the Palace. He has already contacted the manager through his dad's contact. We are just waiting for the permission. We should get an update by morning. Hopefully, we will get the permission.

Arun: Meanwhile, keep thinking of any other place where we can hold our rally.

Anil and Arvind, both of their families have some direct contacts with the Palace Officials. So we are waiting for updates from them. If not through them, should try asking Ananth's help. Or the Railway parallel road, is an alternative.

Last resort is our very own leased land Cubbon park
