I assume HM = Her Majesty?

Either ways car didn't belong to her (was discussed as the Governor's), and I assume the car could have changed colours over the years.

The "Queen's" car should be the black car .....since it has the black steering wheel also. The other one seems to have a white steering , unless changed of course! Cheers

Attached is a picture of the same Buick during the same drive with the same Motorcycle escort but photo taken from the rear. Now anyone should be able to identify which car is involved, 1333 or 4040.

I will give the answer below. How did I figure it out? Not going by the colour in the Pathe photo or the colour of the car today. Today I asked the immediate previous owner who owned BOTH these cars.
One car belonged to an Air India pilot, whose sons I also knew during my school days. I am trying to contact them.
The other was with the Rashtrapati Bhavan in Maharashtra.
I have some more pics of this Buick, again white in colour, taken at different locations during this drive, from different angles, with different state visitors.

It is 1333 only!

Thats settled then.

Don't you think the white is kind of diluting the effect of HM's outfit. Would have looked much better in a Black car!!

Hello all,

While this is OT, it's related.

I've started a thread to identify Rajiv Gandhi's maroon SUV / Jeep at http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/street...-suv-jeep.html (Rajiv Gandhi's maroon SUV / Jeep ...)

Could any of you help ?

Cheers,

FourWheelDrift

Harit, Wasif,

The President came to the Republic Day parade today in a black W 140. Seemed to be either an S600 or an earlier 600SEL. Can you pundits illuminate please? Any pics?

Regards

Saw the parade today, we all know for what
The President came in a W140,its a V12, with a W126 in a tow.
Her husband came in a later generation S class.
The Vice president came in a white series
There has been a change in the PMs cavalcade, the Safaris have been replaced by BMW X5s. How better can they use our taxes.
Would have been interesting to see, instead of these nominal 'powerful' people, what the most powerful person in real, Sonia Gandhi came in.

Dug up an old newspaper clipping advertising a 59 Caddy from Goa. No date, but an article on the other side mentions 1996. Where is she today?

I believe that the asking price was too high and remained unsold at THAT time. Now maybe has moved on, no idea.

This car was very often seen in the 1970's in Panjim near the Indian Airlines office.

I have personally seen Sheikh Abdulla, present J & K chiefministers grandfather in Goa, in Calangute where he was moving about in this car. This was just outside the Tourist Resort. He was almost alone, maybe some protocol officers were with him, but no posse of policemen or security. Those were the days. If I remember, his wife was along with him.

Cheers harit

I believe it is still lying with them, unsold and rusting away (Goa weather). Probably for induction into the museum they were planning to build. Anyone knows about what happened to those plans?

Default Karnataka Rashtrapathi Bhavan car

The following Dodge Convertible (MYB 3) posted by Dominator previously was in the Rashtrapathi Bhavan at Bangalore. This car is currently part of the Dharmasthala Collection
