Maintaining such an old car is a challenge. Even though I have a brand new SU carburettor and also the original fuel pump, I am afraid to restore them in my 1962 car.
Gearphile,

I wanted it to look the original as possible. There were no concerns and the car was painted in 2010 and the color is still nice in spite of minimal care from my side. The painter used the similar putty that is being used on your car.

The SU carb has it's own issues and am still being patient with it. There is at times , the issue with the piston getting stuck and the petrol being thrown out .

Am planning to install a fuel filter to see if the things improve, lets see.

Cheers

By the way same here! TRYING to maintain a 69 Mark 2 is the operative line!
Found the rear strips you mentioned through my mechanic in Bangalore. PM if you are interested in getting his contact details

PMd your no. I am based out of Delhi now. Talk to him and give him my reference (Shankar from outer ring road Bangalore). Black mark 2. Should suffice. He has been taking care of the car since 69.
