Default A LHD 1967 Chevrolet Malibu (ex-Maharashtra Govt VVIP car)

This 1967 model Chevrolet Malibu in white, is a left hand drive (LHD).Its interiors are fairly original. Originally it had a V8 under the hood but the engine is now missing! It is pillarless and a four door version. The car is registered in Mumbai (MRJ) which should be somewhere around 1968 or so! I may be corrected here!
And the broken beacon on the top indicates it was once a VVIP car.Yes, it was used to ferry VVIP's here.

If im not mistaken this was an Ex Raj Bhavan car.

MRJ would make it a 1974s since MRG was 71-72 then MRH and then J. MMB, the later registration was 1976-77 so MRJ would be around 74. I had a Fiat MRJ 6041 which was bought by us in 1974 when i was still way away from the drivable age.

Gogibhai Thanks for the registration updates.I feel MMB came along sometime in 1975 as the Premier President to Padmini transition was during the MMB days.Again I may be please corrected.
I am also told that it was the Governor's car.Could get some ex-Governor's names - Dr P.V. Cherian , Nawab Ali Yavar Jung, Air Chief Marshal (Retd) I.H. Latif, Air Chief Marshal (Retd) O.P. Mehra and Shri Sadiq Ali to name a few.

The a/c vents are similar to the ones that are present in the modern day cars.

The Malibu brings a flood of memories back ! My uncle, way back in 1982 had bought a metallic blue Malibu Station Wagon. Boy, was she lovely - we would literally LIVE in that car.

It might be in the time of Mr. Latif or his predecessor. They also had a beautiful mid 60's Ford Falcon which i had seen Mr. Zail Singh drive around in Bombay when he was the President.
