Dear Friends,

Firstly let me thank you all for your appreciation of this classic beauty which was so passionately maintained by us, for more than thirty years. Your praises and appreciative comments were so encouraging.

Everything in and on her is original stock. It wasn't easy, (see the reflection on the hood 1st & 2nd pic., of us pushing) this is only the paint part, likewise the chrome, upholstery, carpet...I can go on. Engine with only 28,000 on it, would sing like a canary when cranked. Fortunately, she did not corrode a bit even after years of it being parked, thanks to the Hyderabad climate too.

Now, this beauty is owned by a gentleman who is equally passionate about her and most certainly will take better care of her than we did. She is no longer in Hyderabad.

Hopefully soon, you all will be seeing her under the sun...in major national, international vintage rallies.. gliding and flaunting her bat winged rear.

All information henceforth, pertaining to her is the present owners prerogative. By his kind permission I have shared the last set of photographs with you as you all have earned the right know about this development.

Regards,

Fazal saab,

I'm really sad to see her go but I do hope, rather believe, the new owner will improve her beauty and get her road worthy very soon. I cherish my 2+ hours spent with the Impala but feel bad that I couldn't have a ride in it. Doesn't matter as I know she has gotten a beautiful home.

Cheers

OT: Someday I hope to get an E-Type for myself

OH My what a disappointment but I guess there must have been some compulsions. Hyderabad has such a heritage and too loose this car now is sad, especially when each city is looking to retain its cars.

All the best to the new owners.

Cheers

Sir,

What makes you think that the car has been lost by the city. I have a feeling that the car has gone to some collector within the city only. So worry not, it will be out in the open very soon.

Cheers

The flat bed truck looks like the WIAA car from Mumbai so it must have stepped out of Mumbai.

Cheers

KPS,
Compulsions were none.
Just that no one in the family had the inclination to get it back to competition level. She would spend another 5+ years in the garage just maintained.

After much scrutiny which family she should go to, we decided on this one and the most respected person in the Indian vintage scene was mutually involved.

Hyderabad still has many beauties but this one will be missed. It is in India, lets be happy.

I sure was disappointed to read this, much like some of the others who have posted further to your post...but all the more because I was not able to make it even once to see her in the 'flesh' while she was in hyd....'was planning to one day, but month after month, work just kept me pushing it farther!

Anyways, good to know she's gone to good hands. Hopefully she will be maintained the same way, as she deserves.

Fazal,

Its really sad to know that your family decided to let this treasure go.

I have an OT question

That Flat Bed Recovery Truck - Is it an incline Flat Bed or is it fully lowerable (to ground) Flat Bed Truck

I need to know this Urgently.

Thanks and Best Regards & Drive/Ride Safe

Ram

Ram,
It was the tilt, incline type.

Stanher,
Yes, we had made a vague plan, but didn't carry it further.

So this is what happened to the car. It is gonna be a good exhibit at any museum.

Someone in Indore got a great car ! It would have been a cracker if it had been a 2 door V8 or even an open V8

Dear Fellow Bhpians,
there is a place near Bangalore, a town called Ramnagaram on the road to Mysore where there are quite a few Impalas/Plymouths being abused in the most lousy way as taxis and goods carriers. If anyone of you with the resources and interest can rescue even one of them it would be a great service to our car heritage.
