Excellent.

H 1100 would be the early system of plates in Hyderabad. However by the 1960s it would have gotten a new plate APX or APY (assuming it was re-registered like it should have been). This was after the creation of the new state of Andhra Pradesh.

Possibly in between it would have gotten a HYX series plate too.

A picture to go with the chassis card! This was taken while car was still in India.

The car (71DC) in a 1975 Motorsport magazine when owned by Bill Meredith Owens' Stratford Museum. The registration looks like HD-8577. I have also seen it with "10-R"

In all its years in Hyderabad the car should have always been garaged as far as I can tell. I used to visit the home where it was and never once did I see it lying outside neglected

It is like tales of cars being carried out of jungles by elephants- everyone loves a "barn-find" story.

As far as I can tell, the car was in pretty good nick when eventually sold after much persuasion.

Never knew that the Jodhpur RR PII Continental (15-RY) "Roadstar" was owned by Mr. and Mrs. Mouse at one point!

PHANTOMS
When Nawab Sadiq Mohammad Khan Abbasi V of Bahawalpur passed away, in 1966, there were four Phantom Rolls Royce cars in his garage.
1. BWP 60, a Barker Phantom I Rolls Royce, Body No. 39-MC at Sadiq Garh Palace.
2. BWP 182, a Barker Phantom II Rolls Royce, Body No.180 PY.
3. BWP 205, a V12 Phantom III Rolls Royce, 3AX-87, at Sadiq Garh Palace. This car was nicknamed the ‘Silver Princess’ at the Barker factory.
4. By the mid-fifties all of the Nawab of Bahawalpur's cars in the U.K. were registered with BWP plates. The numbers were often retained for reuse after a car was sent to Pakistan or sold.
BWP 733, a Phantom V Park Ward Rolls Royce 7-seater Limousine chassis 5BV61 at the Nawab of Bahawalpur’s residence in the U.K. The Phantom V replaced a Hooper Silver Wraith Rolls Royce, CLW-35 (at the time there were also two Bentleys in the garage). A new Rolls and a Daimler were on order to be delivered in 1966 and had to be cancelled when Nawab Sahib passed away.
After BWP 733 was sold it featured in the movie Performance, a 1968 British crime drama film starring James Fox and Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones. The colour photographs are from the film.*
