@Sarmarishi, that's a very well maintained car. Pls post close-ups of

1. the emblem (see above the grille),
2. The dashboard
3. Any labels - like in the engine bay

Unfortunately I am not where the car is. Its at my uncle's house in Assam so it will be quite sometime before I go back and I am able to get close-ups of the above.

Also, the emblem above the grill just says Chevrolet.

Bumpu Sircar, Calcutta, had a 1924 Chev at his works waiting restoration last spring so I found this 1924 Chev online and downloaded these photos for him.

This is the 24 Chev at Bumpus.

Here are some scanned photos of a 24 Chev that my brother and I had picked up in 1959 when we were at University. We didn't check the anti-freeze one winter and the engine froze up, thankfully the frost plug popped and we didn't crack the block. Not a problem here!

@ John: could you please post a few enlarged pics of the Blue Chevy from the net or if you could let me know of the website as they look very similar. Especially the interior looks very similar. Thanks.

Thanks Wasif. I think that is the same car. Looks like we are missing something on top of the radiator in our car!

I would think that this car is similar car to the blue one posted by Mr.John and Wasif. Now since you are not near the car can you share some more pics that you took at that point of time?
Would it be possible to ring your uncle in Assam and request him for the engine and Chassis numbers so that it would be easier to identify this car.

Regards

This kind of Chevy would have been quiet popular in Indai.

There are pictures of several of these to be found on this forum itself.

An identical car once surfaced mysteriously in an open yard in Hyderabad, lay ther for a while and then got sold to the scrap guys, a pity indeed as it was quiet complete.

I had mentioned this earlier too on this forum. Never could find out who owned it and where and how it came to lay in that field.

Sarmarishi This is a 1926 Chevrolet with a 1800cc/ 4 cylinder engine.
The car also has some history. It was used in the 1940's by Shri Subhash. Chandra. Bose. to campaign for freedom in parts of Assam and Bengal.

There were a three pictures of the car sent to me along with these details, am only attaching one.
