Ramie, 7700/- is a steal man. I got it for 8400/- final price.
@theexister yess the HU 6950IB is costing 7.7k here i had just checked it 3days back,as even i want to upgrade the Pioneer DEH-8015 to either 6850 or 6950IB.Mostly i will be going for 6850 as of now getting it for 8.35k as my budget limits to 8.5k.

@LBM you are right bro 6950UB is the new 7950UB here in India launching price will be about 11.7k roughly

6950 is the latest model and it is the upgraded 6850 I guess!! So, why pay more for the older model. It doesn't have Ipod or USB control.

@speedzak:yaar dont have IPOD,the only benifit is the motorized face and good features and good sound major plus point getting it cheap.I have seen the demo of 5950IB and 6950IB,major upgrades in the HU are the styling of the new series..looks hottt

@LBM:11.7 - 12.5k will be the grey rate as i was told by a friend who owns accessories shop.

My friend had installed pio-6950 for RS.7600 (Milan Subway price) in his innova. But I feel 6850 is better.

Thanks guys i think 7950UB is a better bet than any of the models available right now.

6850:- Has Ipod support and motorised panel but now its too common.
6950IB:- Has Ipod support Is afresh but doesnt have USB support and is not motorised, same old method to open the face plate
7950UB:- has Ipod support, Usb support, Motorised face panel. Or in short a dream come true

I think I should wait as i will get the best price from grey market.

i got 6950IB last month wish 7950UB was available at that time ..
6950IB can be given USB support through CD UB -100 pioneer USB adapter which cost about 100 $ in the US... :-( dont know what would it cost in india. In 6950IB specs they say it Support USB but it had a * which i missed out..

I asked about the 7950 & the accessory guys drew a blank face. This was with nearly 5 shops but then when I checked out the features, there was nothing that I would use. Maybe the USB would have been convenient for pen drive but I havent even got one.

I also prefer listening to audio CD rather than MP3 though I do have a huge collection of MP3s. I never understood the fascination for a motorized panel. Whats the point in opening it in a different way?
I think it would be great if someone explained this fascination & its practical implications.

I went to a retailer today 7950UB is available with him for 11K approx. Man i am too happy will get it installed in few days.

And about motorised faceplate. There's nothing practical about it, its just that it is a feature which is available than why missout on it.
And Pendrives are nowdays quite cheap, You get one for nothing more than 700 rs.
Above all 7950 is better looking than 6950.
