From my upgrade thread, posted a week back...

The iPod integration is really good. It feels like you're actually using the iPod directly. The browsing interface lags for a sec or so, if you try and scroll really, really fast. You can use the 6 preset buttons on the face of the HU to jump the list (Artist/Album etc) by pre-set percentages, so you really don't have to scroll all through the list all the time.

I'm using TA now and find it to be quite good. Bass is really and properly upfront. The HU has simply transformed the mid-bass response (of the 3-ways), so even with TA off, the overall bass is quite in-your-chest. But (with TA off) at some points in some tracks when the sub needs to do a lot of work, the bass can be felt as coming from the back.

I find the display to be a bit flashy. I wish I could have been able to switch off the button lights and the animated background, leaving just the info display on (Track info, time, volume etc). Right now its all or nothing. That is I can leave everything on, or I can switch off the entire shebang (the HU looks like nothing is on).

I'm still as happy and thrilled with the HU as I was last Saturday, when I got it installed.
And I'm still happy today! I gave the HU a long listening session (6 hours continuous) yesterday (I had a really long drive to make). No loss in sound quality, no heating up and shutting down, and controls did not act funny. I then did another 5 hours continuous after a one hour or so break, after the first session. I used CDs for about 5 hours, and the iPod for the rest of the in between.

It is all good. You won't be disappointed. I hope it becomes available soon, Clip

You are deciding the HU on the user interface or on its sound....

And I dont find my P80 bright. It is smooth sound rest I cannot comment on the 9887 as I have not heard it...

its on the "SQ" side.... i mean subtle interface, no flashes and "mid-oriented" sound.

Did you check with Supreme Hi-fidelity, Gurgaon?
Bad news for me, if they don't have it. I sent them an advance a few days ago & was hoping to get it by this weekend.

P80 is not bright. It has some good mids too.
But the question here is whether it's comparable or better than the 9887. And I definitely think the 9887 wins it hands down.

There are few reatilers who stock grey maal if u want me to enquire then let me know but i think it's worthwhile waiting for B&W!!10 days are not big deal, what say.....
