Importance of THD and SNR in an AMP! - Team-BHP

I wanted to ask just for the sake of knowledge,How much importance THD n SNR commands while looking for AMP,For example this clarion product claims THD of 0.002%-Clarion India | APA4300HX
Is it possible to reach at those levels!
I mean to ask how much impact the variations in THD n SNR figuers among various brands put on sound quality.
Are there any benchmark for THD n SNR for sound quality amp!!!

my 2 paise,

THD should be smaller and SNR should be higher.

ie, 0.001! is better than 0.0002 when it comes to THD

THD or Total Harmonic Distortion is the amount of dirty noise added by the electronic components in an audio/video device into the output. Therefore as J K Das said, the lesser the THD the better ;-)

What should be the bhenchmark like? The THD level of less then .01% are hardly audible to human ears!
what i want to know is that, is there any bare min level of THD% for given SNR ratio!!!Out of the two which fig should be given for relevence or importance when it comes to sound reproduction, and i know both are equally imp!!

Anything equal or less than 0.01% is considered as normal. Something below this wud be considered premium...

for SNR it stands for signal to naoise ratio. it is better to have that figure nearest to 100 db.
