What do you mean, Danny? I haven't bought any ICE stuff yet! And I'm not in Mumbai either.

Also, generally speaking, I have noticed that the 2CH variants of 4CH Amps are anywhere from 50 to 70% of the cost. From my understanding the GTA 280 costs Rs. 3500. So then shouldn't it be available for Rs. 7,000 or even lesser?

(Otherwise wouldn't it be more economical, though a little more clunky, to buy 2 GTA 280s?)

Your logic is impeccable, @vebmetal.

Are you sure GTA 280 costs 3.5K? It has "Direct Aux-Input via 3.5 mm phone jack", according to the specs on Blau India site.

I thought the GTA 480 runs to about 5-5.5K? (With B&W)

If thats true its very good VFM!!

I dont get it, there are the VFM amps like the Blau 480, GTA MK Special II, JBL CS 60.4 etc and there are amps like JBL 75.4, ground zero which are priced a bit higher.
If two amps are rated the same, in what ways are the more expensive ones better ? Does the difference in SQ really justify the higher price (if you're not an audiophile)?

No, the GTA4 Special Mark II does - MRP 6K. The GTA 480 is MRP 10K.

Haven't seen mention of GTA280 price on TBHP anytime, other than from @vebmetal.

Whoops! Typo, typo! I meant the GTA280, which was what vebmetal was talking about.

Whoops!! - my bad! That price quote was for the GTA2 Special MK II 2Ch amp!!

Yes, I was originally quoted 10K for the GTA 480, but it seems that some Tbhpians in Bombay have got it for 8.5K with B&W.

The only way I can afford it now is if I buy it in grey :( Are Blaupunkt amps available in grey?

I don't think Blaus are available in grey, but then one never knows what a dealer might be willing to do.

8.5K would not be unusual for the GTA480 - you need to sweet-talk your way into a deal.

From what i have inquired from a few dealers is that Blaupunkt does not come without B/W any where in India & if it does then they are selling you second hand stuff to you
This info was given to me by Blaupunkt dealers , dont know abt the rightness of the information
