just wondering...even the top model DEH-P5090UB has a basic display, i.e no dolphins and moving graphics !? from the pic, the display looks a very basic 2-line LCD type...?

btw vid6639...can you link me to the site from where you got the pics. would like to read up on the features. thanks.

Ah, my bad. I was looking at the Taiwan site so got the Model #'s mixed up.
Looks like only selective models are slated for India.

The 5050UB looks similar to the 5090UB posted above. The specs remain the same but the differnce is the button lights. They are in red not in blue.

And it contains only the basic two line LCD in the front.

How are you liking it so far? Anyhow the 5050/5090 is 4volt pre-out so I think its a decent option for the price

Also I guess grey has 5050 maal and once the official starts 5090 will be out too.

Actually, the '5' series are out already.
4050 is around 6.5k and 3050 is around 6k, with one year 'dealer warranty'

It works well with JBL's in my ikon. But my previous HU was a cassete player. So i cant give any comparison as of now.

What I got is a 4050, and not 4090 I posted wrongly earlier. I am charged 6500 for the 4050. Just back from the install. Sounds OK (not listened to my favourite songs yet).
Will post reviews after a week, at least -- going off early tomorrow for a 3 day trip on the car, to be followed by a 2 day official trip.

Default Quick update - 4050 has BT?

Quick info on the 4050 -

I did not like the display of 4050 at first sight coz it is sort of LCD segmentish.
The user manual says attaching a USB bluetooth adapter will make this capable of controlling BT players and BT phones. But I have neither. :-(

Default Where to get DEH-3090UB in Trivandrum

I am thinking about fitting my Swift with Pioneer DEH-3090UB, JBL GT5-963 3way co-axials and some component speakers at the front(if it fits in my budget). I've got around 14k to spend on the entire system and fittings(i am going for installing a wooden tray above the boot to hold the co-axials). I guess this is the best value for money available..??
Please let me know your opinion..
And I want to know if there is anyone who has got Pioneer DEH-3090UB HU in Trivandrum.

I had the opportunity to use a 5050 in my friends alto. And i must admit, the build quality is PATHETIC!!! It feels totally fake and plasticky. Just like some cheap chinese players! it may have a lot of features and all, but looks and quality wise, its no match for my 6950! Also, the joystick on the 3050 is a joke, horrible to see and to operate!

Today i inquired about the new series from a Pioneer Authorised Dealer(got the phone no from Autocar). He told me that the new series will be available from 19th jan (after 1/2 days from autoexpo) in market. And then i can get the details, For now he has no idea about the pricing and features.
