| Ya even i would like to know more about this amp. We still have members who're buying the 75.4 but very few (or none) reports about this amp. I know the official price is 14,990/- as posted by Sam at the launch. Is it also available in grey ? for what price ??

| BHPian | The GTO 75.4 was a great amplifier with respect to the power it put out at its price! The GTO1004 has a slightly better Signal to noise ratio: 85dbA (reference 1W into 4 ohms) compared to 80dbA (reference 1W into 4 ohms) of the 75.4, hence sound quality would be better, but at the cost of power. It would be a good bet to run 4 speakers off it. It wouldn't do justice to a subwoofer as the 75.4 did! The GTO 75.4 would be a better bet for running a DVC sub in bridged mode. (it is by far one of the best amps to run a sub with that kind power at that price!)

The difference in power is really negligible but from what i know, the 1004 is much better sq wise. The 75.4 no doubt is a great amplifier. But, it was a little harsh. For sub duty though, nothing can beat this amp. It has loads of power. I think the 1004 wont be far off. There wont be a great difference in sub output. 225 watts are not at all bad. I think, the 1004 will be equally good if not better and Imo, it looks good too. But at 15k for the 1004, the 75.4 makes more sense to me. cheers | |

EDIT: Just noticed, the 1004 is stable at 2ohms! Any details on the DBO circuit and adjustable 'Q' feature with the mono amps? How do you adjust the Q? is there a frequency selection knob?

| The Q of a EQ is the width over which the EQ has an effect. Usually EQ will boost frequencies as wide as an octave lower and higer than the center frequency; by adjusting the Q one can decide exactly how much higher and below the center frequency the EQ should operate.

The JBL site says 75.4 is 104@4ohms / 142 RMS@2 ohms & 284 RMS @4 ohms(2-ch And 1004 is 100@4 ohms/ 150 RMS@ 2 ohms and it doesn't give the value for 2-ch bridged

| Senior - BHPian | Generally, almost always, the 2-ch bridged output at 4ohms is exactly twice the value of a single channel output at 2 ohms. Lets take the 75.4 for example. Its single channel output at 2 ohms is 142W RMS. Its bridged channel output @ 4ohms is 284W RMS. Abhibh, I do not doubt your judgement. But, I don't take caraudiosecurity.com as the gospel truth.

I also dont think the caraudiosecurity specs are correct. I cant find the link but when I first heard about the 1004, I had searched and found the specs to be ~ 280 W bridged.
