I use a blaupunkt bass tube. My setup is

Blaupunkt bologna HU (cassette player)
Sony Xplod 165mm coaxials at front
Blaupunkt 10" bass tube
Sony 444 (or whatever) 4 ch amp driving the sub and speakers.

Well this setup is pretty old - this was when only sony and blau were available through authorised channels. But nonetheless this still does the work for me.

I hook up my creative muovo music player through a cassette player. Bass is good - enough to make my hairs stand up and make the ORV vibrate

Might as well upgrade the system but not anytime soon. I am yet to get bored of this setup

But Harrie,
Why you need external amp to drive the bass tube?
Do Blaupunkt has the active Bass Tubes?

I had the amp anyway i had made it some years back. and I dont think Blau has any active tubes in India atleast at the time of my install (oct 04) they did not.

Gotta say this. Desiging car equipment poses a unique set of challenges.

Dont even ask abt soomuko...instead use a pioneer 306C in a sealed box...Better choice anyday. Should not cost you more than 5K with the box

ok I am going to say this even if it hurts....

I like Mahendra Palesha. He is a very nice guy but what i have heard from those woofers of his left me wanting. the bass is lumpy, one note, etc.. he explanation was the market demands this. i hope his future versions are better.

i am a big fan of indian companies and promote them vigoursly if they are equivalent to their international counterparts. i dont promte any thing else. why because i feel that indian companies are lacking the big budgets of the international brands and promoting them is my way of leveling the playing field just a bit.
