Looked at your price quote and walked over to Chandru ( GP Road). They quoted 4.5K for GTX-555. You might want to take a look at them if u are interested. Ofcourse Chandru is well-discussed in the forum.

Is the Ipod data/charging cable not compatible with the HU? I am planning to replace the Sony HU in our Indica with the JBL 333 and use it with an ipod via ipod's data cable, like in my Esteem with a Pioneer HU.

oh I tried the headphone cable out from ipod nano to similar input jack on the 333 - Should I be using the USB cable instead? Will try that on Thursday with the nano as well as ipod touch.

Thanks

Oh alright. Yes, do try the USB cable. It should work brilliantly. That way, you should also be able to control the ipod from the HU. Awaiting your feedback.

I was looking forward to fitting the JBL 333 in our Indica in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. A thought of purchasing it in Hyderabad and installing in Visakhapatnam did strike me, but I dropped it, thinking that getting a JBL should not be a problem there. How wrong was I. It was impossible to get a JBL there. I inquired in 5 shops and only one guy had the JBL 555 selling for approx 8k. He had just one piece.

Dropped the JBL idea and installed a Pioneer 2390UB.

Ok i still don't remember what its called, but i'll tell you how to get to it.

Hold the DISP button pressed. It will bring up a menu, of which the first option is probably "BEEP" (to turn that annoying beep, when you change the volume, off), further along in the menu will be the option to set the line in level.

It is... i had a longish and detailed chat with Mr Harish and he gave the following quotes for my wifes new Alto K10.
GT-X555 - 4500/-
Front 4` Co-axials - 1450/ each
Rear Ovals 6.5 `- 2400/ each.

he says the running rate for X555 is 4800 now, but JBL had a promo offer of entire set wherein HU was going for 4500/- and he can get one for me if I can give me enough heads-up before coming for fitting the system.

Please go to Chandru`s on GP Road ( he is 3 mins walking distance from Express Avenue Mall east gate ).The shop is opposite HDFC Bank on GP Road. Just walk in and ask for Mr Haresh Jethwani. He is a T-BHP member and will guide you thru the entire process. Didnt ask about B & W since fellow members are very confident of the stuff he sells. He has a room at the back where you can get demos. Overall a nice experience.Seems they get bulk supplies at dealer rates. You know how this market works. In case u are coming over on a weekday, call me ( will try n PM my number). I dont know him personally, but well office is 4 doors away and its always great to meet a fellow forum-member.

I finally settled down for privilege motomall on nandanam. He gives with bill and warranty for GT-X555 for 6500 rupees.
Front Speakers: Kicker Front 6.5 inchers for scorpio doors with components and tweeters: 7K
Rear Speakers: Kicker 6 x 9" on boxes behind the last row seats : 7.5K

Overall decent deal. The guy has invested good on customer lounge with ac and all facilities. I liked it

I forgot to post - the ipod USB cable does not work with the 333 HU. I keep getting Aux Error and the ipod Nano becomes unusable. Anybody else getting the same problem or using the usb cable successfully?

Ragul, try it with an older ipod. Some ipod especially nanos are not recognised by many HUs.
