I did compare with 7046. I was not keen on Bluetooth, so 6046 met my needs. Kenwood is really worth the money.

Thanks for sharing this piece of information here I was about to change my Kenwood HU with X555 just because it has got 3 pre outs. Never expected such issues from a reputed brand like JBL. I thought it can perform well with my AMP and the comps better than the present HU as its got only one pre out which is being used for the Sub. My present HU doesn't have any issues currently and it really blends with the AMP without any hmm/hissing. Now I've made up my mind to wait for some time to hear something better.

![]() Sam would be the best who can say something on this. Has JBL already taken this for future pieces?

| Bought a GT-X333 yesterday, for INR 3000, including fitting. Had to replace my old Kenwood HU, as it had stopped reading MP3 CDs. Was quite happy to know there was a HU doing away with the CD drive altogether, and quite easy on the pocket too. FM reception is great, and plays from an SD card w/o any hassles. Very pleased with the product, total VFM |

| Update : JBL X-333 available at Reliance Autozone for Rs.2,500/- Only. With the current trend IMO this HU would be available under 2k before April 2012. Last edited by k2max6 : 28th January 2012 at 10:25. |

| Will the gurus of jbl reply what went wrong here ? Even my dealer does not recommend it . A pioneer with usb/cd player function was available at 3800 and kenwood/jvc at 4000/4200 . So jbl at 3000 looks a bad buy. Maybe at 2000 u can consider the x333.But no permenant clock display again what were they thinking ? Someone from jbl please reply . |

I'm no JBL guy, but my x333 refuses to read usb sticks or SD cards. Just loops for ever trying to read the memory cards then gives up after a few minutes. I succeeded only once or twice in playing music from usb. --Ragul

If one needs a cheap HU with 3 pre-outs & sub-level control and isn't bothered about the whole lot of other basic features missing then this is the HU, otherwise, look elsewhere. I myself initially thought that 3 pre-outs & sub-level control was all I was ever going to need but it isn't so. Two biggest drawbacks of this HU is poor display in daylight and random song play within a folder. As for the drastic price reduction, I feel like a jazz owner myself having bought it for 4500. ![]()

| I have a x555 and it never plays a song which has a track number greater than 255, whatever I try. The random feature plays a the same songs every time and only selects from a set of numbers its almost predictable as far as order is concerned. The HU is pretty ok, apart from USB/SD/AUX convenience you can't recommend it for anything other than price. |

![]() I can totally relate to it by the way. If I've got a track playing between 1-100 then the next "random" track is definitely going to be between 101-200, then 201-300 and so on....you get the drift. Another thing, tracks that have been played too often would have the maximum probability of being played as the next random song. More I listen to a track, more it is selected by the HU when playing in random mode (guess it customizes the search based on your taste just like FB/Google do with your location ), so much for the "random" feature.

The tracks are none of my favorites, just the same numbers. 94-118-236 , 92-117-234, that is a predictable order. The 255 thing is weird, tried the next button for 20 minutes, not one track above this number was selected.

| Can anyone give me a comparison between the Pioneer MVH-1490UB and the x333? Which one should be the ideal pick for my nano? |

| BHPian | I have a question to everyone. Please help. i have a JBL X555 in my Gypsy with 4 JBL speakers, 1 JBL Amp and a Blaupunkt Bass Tube. I also have an Alpine 100 EUB in my Vtec and was thinking of switching of the headunits however the Alpine has only 1 Pre out and the JBL has 3 (not sure what that means). Can i just change the HU from JBL to Alpine and retain the other components as it is in the Gypsy. Will there be any change to the setup or how the music will sound as honestly i feel the Alpine HU will be a better one than the X555. Gurus, please help. |
