Route query for Agashiv caves near Karad

अगाशिवनगर लेणी, Agashiva Buddha Caves

I happen to be visiting Karad over next few days. Thought of visiting ancient
caves shown at above link, though can't see the routes to reach there in maps.

Particularly wanted to know how far is it motorable and how much walking is
required. Accordingly I could plan.

I havent visited the place and heard about it for the time through your post. After some googling and search I located the co-ordinates of this Agashiv Hills through Wikipedia and from there traced the location on Google Maps.

This page mentions the cell number of some Mr.Hemant Kanjale who visited the place and have posted his pictures. Called him and spoke to him. Nice guy, very helpful.

So, this place is only 3 Kms from Karad. The cars goes to the hill base but from there you need to walk for 100-150 meters only to reach the caves. He said, at Karad even if you ask a kid for Agashiv, he would guide you. So, its quite approachable.

Let me know once you are back from this place and share your experience. If possible, I will plan to visit this in the coming weekend
