naveen, wherever u go in rajasthan, one place is a sure NOT - TO - MISS and thats mandawa palace hotels in mandawa. (its interior to Jhunjhunu) and u can have a peaceful night stay and in the morning may be u can head to Salasar temple (app 90 kms from Jhunjhunu).

You can try Bharatpur/Ranthanbore (sp?). Only cycles/cycle-rikshaws allowed inside Bharatpur bird sanctuary and there are lots of easy hiking trails.

Gears,

Default URGENT PLEASE Jaipur to Bangalore Driving Directions and Other Suggestions

Hello,

I am planning to drive from Jaipur to Bangalore and it is ONLY to reach back in Bangalore, no touristy or sight seeing activities.

Which would be the best route and how long should I expect the trip to take?

Also, since I am doing such long trip for the first time, I humbly request your valuable suggestions as to where to stay, what all to take and any other things to be taken care of?

Is it safe to drive and what precautions should be taken?

Kindly advise stops for food, spending nights etc. I am planning to drive ONLY during daylight.

Thanks in advance.

The most straightforward is to do Jaipur - Ahmedabad - Baroda - Mumbai (Ghodbunder) - Pune - Bangalore.

Pune - Bangalore can take anywhere between 9 -12 hours depending on how you drive and when you leave from Pune.

We've done Pune - Baroda in about 10 hours.

How much do you want to drive a day, how many drivers in the car, how many days do you have?

The entire stretch is a busy National Highway so safety shouldn't be concern; plus, a good no. of eating options along the route.

Precautions/preparations:

1) Yellow sticker on the headlight when passing through GJ (not sure if they're still strict about it but no harm in having one as a precaution)
2) Get the car serviced well in advance
3) Carry all the car documents
