Chennai to Anantapur and onward to BLR.

Folks,
Any advice on the route to Anantapur?
Is the Anantapur -BLR route good?

NH205: Chennai to Anantapur
NH7: Anantapur to Bangalore

I have driven on NH205 a bit near madanapalle and it was damn good...I think it should be good (after all its AP)
NH7 is also smooth from Anantapur to Blr. Might find some rough patches on entering Karnataka border but overall fine.

Would this better and shorter?

I can vouch for NH7 Anantpur to Bangalore. I have done it several times. Very good (in AP, worsens a bit in KA).

I realize this is an old thread.

The route above is better with:
NH4: Chennai - Sriperumbudur - Ranipet - Chittoor - Palamner
At Palamner, take a right turn at the circle (the markings are hopeless but there is only one circle, you can't miss it).

Palamner - Punganuru - Madanapalle - Mulakalacheruvu - Nallacheruvu - Kadiri - Kalasamudram - Mudigubba - Anantapur

I have gone upto Kadiri on this route and the roads are great. The road near Kadiri bus stand is absolutely horrible.

Chennai - Bangalore and then NH7 onto Anantapur is longer but you would have good roads all the way. As someone has mentioned, NH7 gets better in AP compared to KA.
