Should be still about the same. I don't think 4 laning work would get over in such quick time.

It continues to be the same. Now with NH234 being announced and it cutting through Mulbagal, there would be more work over that place.

How is Chitoor BP status and the road to Chandragiri?
Plan to do Tirupati some time soon.

Can someone recommend good hotels? I found many Bhimas
Budget one (Paradise) seems OK. Any reviews?

Chittoor bypass is better now. The broken pot-holed roads are gone. But there are still rumbling stretches in between.

Last time I travelled was couple of months back, had taken the Tirupati bypass leading to Alipiri. That road is good, but in between there are congested stretches.

You mean Tirupati or Tirumala? Tirumala has Vikas and Narayanagiri guest houses. They are basic, but neat.

I meant Tirupati. Plan to dock myself there "dowstairs". Take a bus/cab to Tirumala.
Since there is baby involved, dont mind paying a bit more for a good AC hotel with attached restaurant.
I have had food many times at Bhimas Residency, but never stayed. Seemed like a decent hotel? Any feedbacks on that?

Also I was thinking trying the Sarjapur/Malur route to bypass Kolar construction on NH4.

Check out how the rush is for darsan (heard that there has been unprecedented rush recently). I have never been comfortable staying in Tirupati due to the uncertainty in darsan time.

Fortune Kences Hotel is an option. Have seen it from outside, looked big.

Hey thanks for that info. Also any good place to hotels (veg) on the way? Hopefully they also have clean toilets.
Any hotel at Chitoor?

try ' Bans the Hotel ' on Chittoor bye pass road ( on your right towards Tirupati ) - clean place, ample parking and tasty food.

At Tirupati, Mayura ( opposite Bus stand ), Bhimas, Guestline and Fortune kences are all the same - expensive.

Tirumala - do not expect heavy rush in June and July ( Jyestha, Aashada ). On June 5th Saturday, we had ' sheegra darshan ' ( Rs. 300 ) in just under 2 hours ! on weekends, the darshan time is extended till 2330 hrs - the best time to have darshan without much commotion !

Have a great darshan !

There is Nandi Plaza after Palamneru, on the right side. This was roughly 160 KM from BLR. Decent food quality. Clean toilets.

Thanks guys. I got another feedback that weekends may have rush. Hence planning for a weekday with Sheegra Darshan. Cannot do late night, as there is a baby involved.

Also thanks for those hotel details. I plan to avoid NH4 Kolar stretch by taking the Malur road through Bagalur.

In Tirupathi I have had food at Bhimas (residency) and Mayura. Liked the food at both these places. But my experience wasquite old.
Hence I thought new places/hotels might have come up by these times.

What is the latest take on Bangalore-Hoskote-Kolar NH4?
I am planning to avoid it.

Krishnarajapuram to Hoskote - many diversions, time consuming - especially near avalahalli lake, budigere cross and whitefield cross. be aware to go under the bridge near chintamani cross junction towards NH4.

Hoskote to Kolar - fairly even, diversions near flyover constructions ( narasapura cross )

Kolar byepass near railway gate is bad, really bad ( 300 mts ) - bumpy, expect lot of slush due to rains

Kolar byepass to Mulbagal - good ( 2 way at certain stretches )

4 laning ends at Mulbagal. thereafter its a breeze.

would take 2 hours from KR puram to Mulbagal ( 85 kms )

Chittoor byepass - patched up bumpy ride ( approx 5 kms )
