Phoenix clocked some miles today. Thought of taking her to Kolaghat and back, but the guys at the workshop have screwed up the aiming of the headlights... they're pointing at the sky!! So couldn't venture out of the city tonite
But it's sounding and feeling much smoother now. Cannot wait for the run-in to complete!!

Anyway, have fun over there. Say hi to Zappo from all of us.

PS: @mods: shouldn't this thread be part of the "Travelogues" section now? Would make for a nice travel log!

They were asking for some NOC, but when I told them that I had come from WB today they allowed me to go.
It helps to keep toll payment bills with you, they are handy when you have to face a tough police officer.

After looking at the roads I am sure that we are fast approaching the state of driving nirvana in this country. Most of the roads everywhere have started looking more like runways.

Roads or highways?
You recently got a feel of the roads in Cal. Here, the only things you'll achieve:
a. Back problems
b. Suspension problems
c. Both the above

Zappo I am not sure if you have recently driven to this side (read B Hills, J Hills and HiTech), monsoons did enough for roads to be called runways no more.

Default Things learnt during the trip

Some of my observation during the trip though I may be wrong in some cases -

1. Andhra Pradesh people are very polite and helpful
2. A.P people are fond of diesel cars - saw at least 50-60 diesel Ford Fiestas and 10 - 15 diesel Swifts between Vizag and Hyderabad.
3. A.P people love white cars. Most of the cars that I have seen till now are white. At one point I was feeling that I was in some sort of daze as almost everywhere I saw only white ford fiestas. It seems that Ford has started profiting due to A.P only .
4. A.P people are very rich - conclusion from the number of Octavias, Lauras, Mercs and BMWs seen in 2 days
