Default Hyderabad - Suryalanka ,Bapatla(guntur)

Hi
Next weekend Feb2 and 3 we guys are going to Suryalanka Beach Resort,Bapatla,Guntur in two cars.

After searching in MSN maps,here are the three possible routes

Route1: Hyd-->Chitya-->Tipparti-->Miryalguda-->Narsaraopet-->Chilakaluripet-->Chirala-->Bapatla-->Suryalanka = 324 KM

Router2: Hyd-->Chityal-->Tipparti-->Miryalguda-->Narsaraopet-->Guntur-->Ponnur-->Bapatla-->suryalanka = 340Km

Route3: Hyd --> Vijayawada -->Guntur --> Bapatla -->Suryalanka =350K

Which is the best route considering the road conditions.
Hyd -Vijayawada I'm skeptical because of the maddening and chaotic traffic.

We would be starting at 4am from Hyd.

Thanks guys !!!!

Dude, get the maps from mapmyindia.com and i suppose you will get better details. Is hyderabad -vijayawada route not great ? When i was during my college years in vijayawada we used to cruise a lot to hyd on this one.... its been almost 6 to 7 years now...
Have fun dude and try researching the travelogues for this trip and please drive safe.

Hi romeo,
Route 3 is best of all. Though the NH9 is crowded, it would be a better route than the Miryalaguda road.

There was a big discussion of Chennai - Hyd route, Pls search and read the thread, some of your routes may be discussed here.

In case of your route, I would still suggest you to take NH9 Vijayawada then NH5 to Guntur, it would be faster as you are starting 4AM it would be no issues as by 5AM you will pass off all the Volvos / Night buses coming into Hyd.

here's the final route which we have decided.
Hyd-Vijayawada ( Halt at Vijayawada) go around and see near by caves.
take NH5 - Vijayawada-Guntur (Halt at Guntur) see Amravathi
next day go to the beach resort.

Guys who are planning to visit the beach resort, book it atelast 2weeks ahead, we tried for coming Sat and it was all full ,before a week itself it was full,then we had to go for the next day i.e Sunday .

Ciao

I believe I am a bit late here as you have already decided on your final route. Happy Driving!
In any case, if you want to see a bit of rural AP, particularly Guntur district, you can try out the Guntur - Peddanandipadu - Bapatla - Suryalanka route. Passes through lush green paddy fields and small villages. I visit a place near Bapatla occassionally, and take a part of this route.

Check out the tasty 'attus' (Dosas) and 'Garay' (Vadas) at a small roadside hotel in Bapatla, near the railway station. Really tasty!
