| Planning to drive from Mysore to Davanagere in the weekend. Two options. One via Arasikere and other via Hassan. No difference in distance. I think Hassan route is better. Any inputs? Hosadurga, Holalkere are on the fringes of mining lorry area, where they use the Hubli line to load. So risk of bad roads is high... What are your thoughts ? Listed below is the distances which I got as driving directions from a website.. Mysore - Shrirangapattana - 18.6 Shrirangapattana - Pandavapura - 5.78 Pandavapura - Krishnarajpet - 31.19 Krishnarajpet - Kikkcri - 12.94 Kikkcri - Channarayapatna - 15.63 Channarayapatna - Arsikere - 51.23 Arsikere - Banavar - 20.05 Banavar - Yagati - 19.24 Yagati - Hosdurga - 31.71 Hosdurga - Holalkere - 23.01 Holalkere - Chikjajur - 17.1 Chikjajur - Anagodu - 26.91 Anagodu - Davangere - 17.88 Total - 291.27 Mysore - Elivala - 12.63 Elivala - KR Nagara - 20.19 KR Nagara - Blerya - 17.03 Blerya - Holenarsipura - 23.05 Holenarsipura - Hassan - 33.67 Hassan - Banavar - 55.18 Banavar - Yagati - 19.24 Yagati - Hosdurga - 31.71 Hosdurga - Holalkere - 23.01 Holalkere - Chikjajur - 17.1 Chikjajur - Anagodu - 26.91 Anagodu - Davangere - 17.88 Total - 297.6 Thanks Arun |

| The most direct and shrtest route is via Arsikere. Mysore-Srirangapatna-KR Pet-Channarayapatna-Arsikere-Tarikere-Bhadravathi-Shimoga-Honnali-Harihar-Davanagere. I beleive that the Shimoga road is good, but expect the Shimoga-Harihar road to be a bit rough (although I do not know the current condition). Alternatively, you can turn off into NH13 at Bhadravathi (you have to go through town) and via Chanagiri to Chitradurga, and take NH4 from there to Davangere. NH4 construction work is on in this stretch, but road is quite motorable. Taking the Bangalore route does not make any sense, being longer and also teh problem of having to combat city traffic. |

| Senior - BHPian | If going through Bangalore you can take left turn into BMIC road from Mysore road which connects to NH4 after city limits but much before nelamangala. I think going via bangalore will be 400km drive. Ravi. |
