| Just wanted to know about weekend destinations that I can drive to over the weekends, stay over night in some peaceful place and come back the next day. Somewhere within 150Kms from Kolkata. I would prefer if the place is neat, not so crowded as common tourist destinations and good food of course Think one word for this is 'Good Resorts'Had some good places to Visit in Bangalore. Want to explore in and around Kolkata now. Thanks.

| BHPian | You could try Shankarpur. Not as crowded/dirty as Digha. But, its around 170kms away. Hotel Nest is the only decent option there. Food is good and they have a bar. Welcome to Hotel Nest

| Thanks shuvd This looks decent. Had heard of another place called Mondarmoni or something like that also. How is that ? Resorts in Karnataka | Resorts in Bangalore I used to follow a list like the one above in Bangalore which really took to some real nice places like Young Island Resort, Angsana Oasis Spa & Resort Bangalore, Bush Beta Wild Life Resort etc. Many other places for which I plan to keep visiting Bangalore on a frequent interval. These were really good. Actually it's not the price factor but these were very close to Nature and exclusive. I am sure there is a list of West Bengal also which I wanted to get acquainted with. Google tried his best to help but then I gave up. Resorting to tbhpians for help.

| BHPian | The Team BHP Kolkata gang went on a drive to Santiniketan a few months back, you can check out the reports in the meet section. Although Santiniketan has become commercialized over the years, it still retains a little bit of its earthly charms. Nothing much to do there except for general adda and timepass (along with some mildly intoxicating substances ), so make sure you are in a large group (or for that matter, alone with that special someone!). There's also Mondarmoni near Digha, which I've heard mixed reports about. Apparently, the last few miles of road are practically non-existent but the place itself is good once you get there. Its supposed to be much less commercialized than Digha or Shakarpur. Another Team BHP drive is loooooong overdue, especially now that we have 'red hot' new entrant to the club... What say @Planet? Put on your planning hat and chalk out something na! |
