| BHPian | Coimbatore - Perundurai - Bhavani - Mettur - Thoppur - Dharmapuri - Krishnagiri - Vellore - Chittoor - Tirupathi. You will have the GQ from Krishnagiri to Vellore. or you can take NH219 from Krishnagiri via Kuppam. This route is shorter by 50 - 60 kms. However its a normal NH. .... Krishnagiri - Kuppam - Palmaner - Chittoor outer - Tirupati. Once you reach Krishnagiri you need to take a right (under the bridge) towards Chennai road. The left towards Kuppam should be 5 kms or so from the right you took. It is a junction (with traffic lights if my memory is correct) and there will be signboards put up. The road condition is supposed to be decent and is the shortest to Tirupati. Choice of hotels I leave it to others. :-)

| If you are planning to stay in Tirupathi check out...Bhima's or Bhima's Paradise near the busstand. It's pretty good. If your are planning to stay in Thirumala then you have to book in advance for the TTDC cottages. I suggest you book your stay in advance since the holiday rush is heavy.

| Sudheer, you have your answers on the route. But your profile says you are located in Cochin, but why asking for route from Coimby? We used to go from Cochin via Batherry - Mysore - B'lore - Kolar when I was very, very young.

| BHPian | Yup from Cochin that would be a good option as well. Roads are good all along except a few kms before Gundulpet once you cross into Karnataka. However swimming through Bangalore traffic from Raja Rajeshwari Nagar right till you get to Old Madras road is a nightmare, unless you time your entry correctly !!
