True they are dynamic because where you encounter problem in a given year the BRO chaps try to remove them at that point only for it to crop up somewhere else. But by the time he goes the convoys would have had the road pretty bad and the rush would be maddenning in July. But all in all I think in capable hands Zen can easily make it.

I think given the conditions and resources available the BRO is doing a good job. Many BRO guys / hired help give up their lives yearly to keep these roads open. The terrain is hostile, in a flux and one of the most difficult to keep in top conditions.

June is not the ideal time to drive by, where the army convoys drives through, the roads would be hell, small cars need to negotiate them carefully. I heard many reports of roads settling down and repairs happening sometime around June end, need to validate that.

Any information when the roads are repaired / relaid around here?

Ramky, I think it is need-based.
By and large it would be safe to say the roads are at their best in September. Which does not mean it is the safest month to do Ladakh.

Anyone planning to drive through Kinnaur Valley (Rampur, Recong Peo, Sumdo) to Spiti Valley (Tabo, Kaza), here is an update that the road beyond Malling/Nako is closed thanks to a massive landslide and you cannot drive from Shimla/Rampur to Kaza. As of yesterday evening, there is no certain date for reopening of the road.

Thanks for this update, HV.
Is this the 'new' Malling Slide bypass which is also closed now?

Talked to Dwarak just now, they are back in Rampur en route Synge to take Jalori route. He confirmed the landslide is at Malling - apparently happened only 2-3 days ago. We will also know in the next 3 hours how slushy Jalori is!!!!

Exact location of landslide is 5 kms beyond Nako, just before Malling. Dwarak and 2 others are in Bullets, ex-Bangalore.

I presume they will have to go Via Jalori Pass - Shoja - Aut - Manali route. there is a bridge collapse somewhere along that route? Or its the Manikaran Kullu bridge only?

No, there is no bridge collapse on the Jalori Jot-Aut route, just that a bus went down the valley 2 days ago near Shoja. The Bhuntar Bailey across Beas (to go to Kulu Bypass and Manikaran) has collapsed. But tthat is no problems since you can go through Kulu town anyway and take the new bridge north of Kulu to reach the other bank.
