Thanks, Dolphin.
The monsoon season happens to be my favourite time for trips. Though Ladakh is supposedly in rain shadow area, things seem to be changing. Year before last they had floods there and a lot of the traditional houses 'melted' as they are made of mud!

Nithin, I have a weakness for clouds, fog, call it what you will! Those photos are just too beautiful!

@gd1418: Thanks gd. Those are essentially 'unplanned' shots; I really don't think you'd need any special skills to click photos there - the terrain/vistas are awesome!

Default Konaseema in Andhra Pradesh

Though this is never promoted as a tourist destination I felt that this part of Andhra called Konaseema which is a river delta in East Godavari district of Andhra Prasdesh is very scenic and pleasant during the moonsoons. One rider though, heavy rains can get the place flooded.
I has several breakaway rivulets of Godavari flowing through it and is a land of endless coconut plantations. The drive from Rajamundry to Kadiyam is another scenic drive. Amalapuram to Antarvedi is one of the scenic routes in this area. Antarvedi is famous for its Narasimha temple which is located at the facing the entrance of river Godavari into the sea. This area is very scenic and resembles Kerala backwaters with all the rivulets and Coconut plantations. This could be an exciting off beat location for someone located in Hyderabad or Chennai.

Don't be so modest, I think the photos are awesome... great shots...It's the equipment and the person handling it, obviously the photographer is the key ... with the right equipment can do wonders...

which Camera BTW?

Thanks, Shanky, I'm flattered.
Honestly, there is not much 'expertise' that has gone into taking those pics - a point-and-shoot camera, Sony DSC-T7, used in full auto mode!

all those pics from ladakh are quite nice, but...they dont give you that monsoon "feel"
OTOH, if you look at nithinnarayan's post and pics, you'll see what "feel" I'm talking about.

A divine road between Kaladunghi and Nanital..Although this was slightly before the monsoons but the road and drive was a delight. I have written more about it at http://chaipaokoda.in

I quite agree, Ripper. Ladakh is actually a 'cold desert' and 'rain-shadow' area!
To have this much there is in itself rare!

Sudev, the first two (in fact three) pics are utterly classic!

Arrow Kotamangalam-adimali-munnar

One of the best stretches I've seen for a monsoon drive is from Kothamangalam-Adimaly-Munnar, in the rainy season its full of numerous waterfall, specially the climb from Adimaly to Munnar.

Attached photos on rain at Nelliambathy, Kerala, both results of monsoon.
