How is the pune-bangalore expressway - Team-BHP

How are you all i am Sajid a driving demon who loves to drive and drive, i never get tired of driving no matter what, my longest trip is pune to ooty non stop in my previously owned esteem, i reached ooty in 28 hours non stop including the stop overs, it was fun guys real fun, fortunately iam leaving for ooty again in the next 2 or 3 days, so i just wanted to inquire about the new expressway which was under construction when i last travelled to bangalore, how is the drive now? Please let me know guys, Have fun and drive safely, God bless you all Bye

Its a 4 lane highway.. not an expressway.
12-13 hours to bangalore from pune considering decent speeds.

Haveri-chitradurga stretch is going to be declared a NASA expedition site soon.

Umm...NASA expedition site? What exactly is NASA going to be doing on this site??

There are many threads giving updates on the NH4 connecting Mumbai - Bangalore and this thread might be of help to you as recently a couple of folks travelled to and fro and some will be doing this stretch in a couple of weeks. So this might be of help.

There are lot of diversions since both sides of the highway are not finished. But most of the highway will have the new road which is used as a two way road.

I meant to say.. the roads are horrible.

N.I.C.E Road runs right from HOSUR Road (some stretches undone) touching Bannerghtta road,Kanakapura road,Mysore road all the way to TUMKUR Road.

I think what are you are referring to is the BMIC (Bangalore-Mysore Infrastructure Corridor), which is going to be an expressway between Mysore and Bangalore when it is completed. For now, the only road to mysore is the State Highway.

Its 4 laned highway not expressway at all but government is looting public by collecting expressway fees for normal 4 laned highway with lot still bad stretches between Chitradurga and Hubli.

Road Junctions don't have free ways like underpass or flyover in most of the places.

Road smoothness is not good at all. Still long way to go see best road.

road_master, you will enjoy the stretch between Kolhapur and Belagavi (Belgaum), by far the best on this route.

OT:

ravibhat, have you gone on the road from Chittoor leading to Tirupathi? That's looting.
